Part time job = no benefits, like HEALTH INSURANCE.
There is a collective breath holding for both the SCOTUS decision and the results of November 6, 2012.
And temporary jobs are a category separate from part time jobs. Temp jobs can be full time, unlike part time, but only for temporary periods.
I don’t see any mention of temp jobs in the article, which if they are not included would mean there is another large category of jobs with few if any benefits, that are not full time jobs.
More part-time work = part-time pay/part-time spending = much less tax revenues collected = high deficits = less consumer/business confidence = less consumer/business spending = less demand for workers = less full-time work and more part-time work = ....and so on
This is disturbing. It’s news like this that makes me question the ideology of fidelity to big business wihtout question. Big Business supports open borders and bailouts, so they’re not infallible.
My wife has had a part time job for 15 years by choice.
at age 74 she doesn’t want a full time one but still wants to work instead of vegitating.
