Constraints on economic action hurting Obama
NY Times via MSDNC ^ | June 2, 2012 | JACKIE CALMES and NICHOLAS KULISH

The bleak jobs report on Friday predictably had heads snapping toward the White House, looking to President Obama to do something. Yet his proposed remedies only underscore how much the president, just five months before he faces voters, is at the mercy of actors in Europe, China and Congress whose political interests often conflict with his own.

That day, Mr. Obama continued his weekly travels around the country, prodding Congressional Republicans to pass his “to-do list” of temporary tax cuts and spending initiatives to help create jobs. The Republicans only mock him, which leaves Mr. Obama free to blame his opponents and their presidential standard-bearer, Mitt Romney. But in doing so, he telegraphs a message of powerlessness that no leader likes to convey—least of all one who ran for office four years ago vowing to bridge Washington’s partisan gulf. …

In his weekly address on Saturday, recorded on Friday at a Honeywell International plant near Minneapolis, the president cited the global woes buffeting the economy. But he singled out Congress for rebuke.

“While we can’t fully control everything that happens in other parts of the world, there are plenty of things we can control here at home,” Mr. Obama said. “There are plenty of steps we can take right now to help create jobs and grow this economy.”

Without mentioning Republicans, Mr. Obama said Congress had not passed measures he had proposed to get jobless construction workers rebuilding roads, bridges and runways; to give small businesses a tax break for new hires; and to help states pay teachers, firefighters and police officers. The steady elimination of public sector jobs has offset increased hiring in the private sector for more than two years.

“So my message to Congress is: Get to work,” he added. …

Poor, Poor, Barry. The whole world is against him. I thought he likes to lead from behind.

And where were these jerk-offs when Bush the Younger was Presient?

Yes, the President has only limited means to help the economy. But what he really has is endless means to screw it up. The key is not to do anything to retard economic growth. Sometimes you get unlucky (Bush). Even Bill Clinton got it. Once he laid off the tax hikes and Republicans took Congress--the economy did great.

These are extraordinarily difficult times, and a recovery will require shrewdness, hard work and courage. For a cowardly fool, the obstacles are insurmountable.

All of you college grads come on out and put down asphalt. Then we can all drive and fly around looking for jobs. Obama puts the cart before the horse and admires his work with a self righteousness only a fool can muster.

The dog ate my homework Obama. I’m gonna spend a whole year on health care that the people didn’t want.

Sorry Mr. Obama, but we ain’t got the time.

It takes economic policy 6 months or more to work. So you are done.
You said it yourself, if i don’t have this thing done in 3 years, it’s gonna
be a 1 term proposition.

Golf, golf, hoop, vacations, going around the world, going to West Coast
for fundraisers, going to swing states and flying AF1 around with no
care for the taxpayers.

1 and done.

Mr. Obama, ain’t nobody going to believe your act any more.

You are lazy. A scapegoat. No leader. You just denigrate every decent
group of people in this country.

Here’s a clue Obama: they are citizens too. These people who you spew
hatred and lies and denigrate. They are the productive citizens who
live their life and are law abiding citizens. Like me.
Like my brother. Like my sister.

You hate them. Or just say it for effect. Which is worse. You want people to hate other people. Why? So that you
can get re-elected. You just want the power by any means necessary.

Well, no one cares except you. The USA will go on. The French, the Germans,
the Russians, The Chinese will go on.

The UN will go on.

The US Constitution will go on.

It’s so great, what a country.

Some of the things he said he proposed but congress had not acted on like: Tax breaks for small business who hire. He and the congress already did that in 2009 and if I am not mistaken money from the stimulus went to bridge and constuctuion projects at least that is what I see when I see the roadsigns highlighting the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act which cost each taxpayer $3,000.00 each.

He is such a liar those things were already tried and they did nothing. But to say congress did not act is just a bald faced lie.

Watch the Obama shift to the center. He knows half of America is dumber than a box of rocks and may embrace the move just to justify their guilt in voting for this socialist scum.

Cry Me a f’n river...

For the first 2 years of his presidency, with Pelosi, Reid and a huge majority, the Dems completely ignored the voter's screams about the economy because they were determined to take care of their leftist wish list while they had power. And the plan was to balloon the budget, and just CR the thing as long as possible. They've never given a crap about jobs or employment, just their agenda.

“I’m gonna spend a whole year on health care that the people didn’t want.”

This is a point that needs to be pounded home again and again.

He so misread events that he didn’t realize the degree of the economic crisis we are in and how much the American people are suffering.

He spent his first year and all his political capital on a health care bill that no one wanted.

We don’t want a leader with that bad of judgement and this will resonate with the American people.

The manchild is on the hook with Harry Reid and the Dems who control the Senate - for producing no budgets. They own it jointly.
