Why Bill Clinton Works to Undermine Barack Obama
Yahoo! News ^ | Sat, Jun 2, 2012 | Mark Whittington

Former President Bill Clinton appears to be playing a game that is calculated to embarrass the current president, Barack Obama, whom it is reported he has despised since the 2008 campaign.

First, according to Big Government, Clinton appeared on the Piers Morgan show and slammed the Obama campaign's attack on Mitt Romney's tenure as the CEO of Bain Capital. He is just the latest high-profile Democrat to so.

Then, Clinton went to Wisconsin for a get-out-the-vote effort in advance of the recall election, the Chicago Tribune reports. President Obama has studiously avoided venturing to Wisconsin, concluding as have most people that the attempt to recall Republican Gov. Scott Walker is doomed to failure.

Clinton has not been so reticent. It is a win/win situation for him. If by some miracle Walker should fall, it will be seen as entirely due to Clinton's last-minute efforts. If Walker prevails, Clinton will get kudos from big labor and other Democrats for at least trying while the president stayed away.

The new book about Obama, "The Amateur," was recently excerpted in the New York Post. The excerpt depicts how Clinton, fuming with rage at Obama since 2008, attempted to persuade his wife, Hillary, to challenge Obama this year. The secretary of state demurred, but the account illustrates the lengths to which Clinton would go to exact revenge on the president.

And well he might. It is not just the humiliations Obama visited on Hillary Clinton during the last campaign that has enraged the former president. While the Clinton presidency was entertaining from a tabloid standpoint, it was mostly a successful one, especially when Newt Gingrich became speaker of the House in the 1994 takeover of Congress and thus provided some much-needed adult supervision. Clinton sees the ruin that Obama has caused

If that isn't the pot calling the kettle black, then nothing is...

Rush Limbaugh agrees with you. Obama is gonna keep getting hammered until about July, when you’ll see some good news of some kind (Unemployment down to 8.1%, figures NOT getting revised, whatever), and you’ll hear about nothing but “The Comeback Kid.”

They want Obama to raise more money to give to the media to buy more political commercials.

For those younger out here, Bill Clinton is as vindictive as Obama. A lot of people around him died under mysterious circumstances. Commerce Secretary, Ron Brown, for one. One of his Arkansas troopers that knew too much, another. Dozens.

I too am puzzled at anything positive said about the Marxist Hillary and her Con-Man husband. If it would get Bill a piece of tail he’d sell every child in this nation into slavery. They are scum.

I paid more attention during Clinton’s presidency than any other and what I have to point out to others often is the fact that he was not a popular President. Almost 6 in 10 voted against him in ‘92, more voted against him than for him in ‘96, popular president’s don’t get impeached, and I truly believe the Clinton’s wanted the Lewinsky scandal to break, to keep the attention away from from the Indonesian/Chinese campaign contribution scandal.

Sadly Clinton’s presidency was probably to the right of Romney’s governorship.

I don’t recall any govt mandates or legalization of gay marriage.

Hate Romney's milktoast politics all you want. It is very unfair to compare him as a man to Bill Clinton.

I didn't. I compared their political stripe, which is self-preservation and populism.

I am fairly confident that Romney, as a man, is nothing like Bill Clinton, the man.

A game calculated to embarrass The One? A fools mission by a fool who could not himself be embarrassed.

I’m familiar with most of that. I just don’t understand why they didn’t take out Obama if they (Bill and Hillary) had that much power.

The official body count of former FOBs was 94 when he left office.

Obama’s count is only 27 and none high profile.

I never hated either one, but disliked both. The Anointed One even more so and it will be a delight to see him gone and this country can breath a sigh of relief.

Let's just say I want the ringside popcorn concession, when these two charlatans and traitors are strangling one another in an everlasting cage-match in Hell.

Interesting article, and I've agreed for some time with this general idea, that the Klintonx had their own agenda, and Barky knocked over the apple-cart.

I truly believe the Clinton’s wanted the Lewinsky scandal to break, to keep the attention away from from the Indonesian/Chinese campaign contribution scandal.

That's still an interesting theory that has some credit on the Right, but IMHO the Klintonx probably would have preferred that neither come up in public. They defeated Fred Thompson with the Chinese Wall and the disgusting BenVeniste and the toady Jamie Gorelick (may she burn in hell). There's no other word for it: the Senate Democrats bullied, intimidated, and beat the GOP senators, and Fred, like a drum. Fred must have wondered what was wrong, since things didn't go at all like they had during Watergate.

The Klintonx fought like hell to keep Monica under wraps with the "Mad Monica" theory retailed by the slime-trailing Sid "the Squid" Blumenthal -- Max Blumenthal's sperm donor -- to the late Chris Hitchens and his wife, who were nominally Blumenthal's friends. (What sort of man lies to friends and tries to use them politically?)
