10 Reasons Obama Must Disclose His College Records

Vetting: Desperate, Obama supporters portray all who look into his past as "birthers." Now they ridicule efforts to find how a pot-smoking slacker got into Columbia and Harvard.

But Obama's college records are a legitimate campaign issue. Mysteries abound, chiefly concerning his transfer to Columbia and ascension to Harvard. Voters, moreover, have had the benefit of knowing other recent Democrat White House hopefuls' course work and grades.

If there's nothing to hide, why not release these academic records?

Why is the White House stonewalling?

An objective press corps ought to be curious. But it has by and large refused to pursue the issue, even though it hectored George W. Bush to release his college transcripts.

Here are 10 reasons the electorate has every right to see Obama's records:

1. Liberal historians have crowned Obama "the smartest guy ever to become president." Prove it. We're not convinced. Neither are the millions of Americans who still can't find jobs, thanks to his failed policies. Let's see his course work. Did he get an F in Econ 101 while acing his Marxism classes? We wouldn't be surprised.

While Obama graduated from Columbia with a poli sci degree, his cumulative grade point average is unknown. There are indications it was not very high. Yet somehow Obama got into Harvard Law. Northwestern University professor John McKnight wrote Obama a letter of recommendation after he begged for one. McKnight was not one of his professors, but a radical Chicago leftist who mentored him. He says Obama told him he couldn't get Columbia professors to endorse him due to lackluster grades.

This is the first I've heard of "radical Chicago leftist" mentor John McKnight.

The SAT and LSAT scores are particularly important. Grade inflation was already endemic by the time Obama was an undergraduate, all the more so for minority students. But the SAT and LSAT tests were hard to tinker with and thus a reliable measurement. The MSM clamored for Bush 43’s SAT scores and shut up only when he disclosed them. The issue went away when Al Gore's scores were released and were lower than W's.

The New Yorker published an article on George W. Bush in late 1999 which included his transcripts--apparently the transcripts were leaked to them (not furnished by Bush).

Kerry's transcripts eventually became public but from what I have read it happened only after the November 2004 election. The media never forced Kerry to make his discharge papers public. He let one sycophantic historian look at them (and maybe only in part).

It's a pattern with Democratic candidates. No pressure or minimal pressure to release college transcripts, military records, or medical records. Clinton wasn't forced to release his medical records. Who knows what embarrassing information would have been revealed?

I want to see them because I believe he went to school as a foreign student. That would constitute fraud if he received admission/student aid as a foreign student. While the statute of limitations has long since expired on any crime that might have been committed, it would certainly impact his law license or ability to testify in any legal proceeding because it is a crime of dishonesty.

A police officer would no longer be able to do their job (or even obtain their job) if they did the same thing. I believe we will find this out, but it will be after Obama has left office. I would also like to know what passport he used to travel to Pakistan during his college years.

There is too much smoke for there not to be a fire somewhere. I think we deserve to know the truth and once it comes out we should ram it down their throats.

Playing devil’s advocate with my own hypothesis. It is hard for me to believe that the Clinton’s did not know this and I think they would have used it. They have plenty of MSM and Ivy League friends. This has always created a bit of doubt for me on the allegations against Obama and it’s difficult to reason away given the Clinton’s history unless there was a quid pro quo on dirt.

There are a lot of Kerry records, esp. from Vietnam, that have never been released. Some operational records are missing.

He has released nothing about his contacts with the communist Vietnamese in Paris for at least two trips, if not three. Some journalists have identified admitted small “c” communist David Dellinger (Mr. Hanoi Lobby) and the Communist Party of France as the go-betweens. This could be a direct violation of the Logan Act.

I would contact his former campaign spokesman Wade Sanders but he is serving a federal sentence for possession of child pornography.

I’d contact Kerry’s brother but he is an admitted/convicted burglar.

I don’t think Obama was a bad student and I could be wrong. I think they are holding their cards and just before the election they will release what will be fairly good scores. Then they will use that and make the claims from the right look idiotic. He may have had bad SAT scores but once in the elite system he I am sure used his background to his advantage.

Now if they do not release his scores then it does seem to me he was not as brilliant a student as they have made him out to be.

It is a well known ‘secret’ that the difficulty at Harvard is getting in. Once in a decidedly large percentage of graduates attains honors status. It is more so in Law than in Business or Medicine, but it is an occurrence. Remember how long it took JFK JR and several other 'renowned' graduates to pass the Bar?

The amount of A's awarded at Harvard are close to 50%. That is not an anomaly and among the favored IE; MINORITY students: The A's and A-’s are even heavier. Ivy League schools are an establishment that allows for the incredibly average to lord it over the high achievers from lesser known institutions. It is also a way for the rich and powerful to perpetuate that wealth and power to their own offspring and social class.

Obama may not want people to know which courses he took. Given that he was a student after grade inflation had become rampant, his GPA may be respectable (but a B in the 1980s might have been a C or a D in the 1960s). But there could be embarrassing information in the transcripts like being admitted as a foreign student.
