We may have to buy I-told-you-so’s in bulk.

Anybody surprised at this news is dumb enough to ferry a scorpion across a stream.

Both Dole and McCain fought less to get elected president than they did to win the nomination. Getting the GOP nomination was the victory lap for their political career, actually winning was an after-thought.

Romney wants to win. Maybe he wants to win for all the wrong reasons (personal ego and ambition), but he damn well wants to be President and seems to be willing to fight tooth and nail to get it.

I am hardly a big Romney supporter, but at least for once the GOP has nominated someone that is willing to fight to win.

You all asked for Romney. Now that you got him and slobbering all over him for the past month, you get to keep him. Glad I have not drunk the Romney Kool Aid....I won’t either. You guys are so easily swayed in such a sad way.

Well, since Romney has vowed to get rid of Obama care on day one, I’m gonna wait to react on this story until I hear more.

Not quite:

He promised to get rid of Obamacare and replace it with his own plan, which as of yet has not been fully fleshed out.

That's not the same as just getting rid of it.

nothing has changed absurd on its face. Mike Leavitt is just one of many "transition" leaders. There's no way Romney is equivalent to Obama.

A vote of conscience is hardly symbolism. Its just the right thing to do. Sometimes life presents hard choices. Character is doing the right thing even when you know the immediate consequences will not be pleasant. If we continue to sell off bits and pieces of our conscience every few years, simply because we fear the future, we will eventually have nothing left to sell, and our would-be overlords will no longer need to pretend they care.

That starts with repealing Obamacare, starting Day One.

People are only quoting half of his position!

Romney wants to repeal and replace. That promise is from his own campaign site.

We may have to buy I-told-you-so’s in bulk.

ABR's have the best of both worlds. Romney wins and everything he does as POTUS will not be conservative enough. Romney loses and it will be "I told you so".

So go ahead and buy those I-told-you so's in bulk now because you can't lose this bet. When you don't take a stand in this election and support nothing, you can't lose.

Romney said he would repeal Obamacare. Okay, then do it. We'll see. .

Note to Romney: Don't "replace" it with any other plan. We the People do not want Socialized Medicine. Period. End of story. What part of that do these people not understand?

Romney is 100% FOR RomneyCARE=ObamaCARE=Socialized Medicine.

The GOPe is also for Romney’s gay marriage
and Romney’s deceptive practices, and
Romney’s cheating, and Romney’s poor governorship,
and Romney’s corruption (claiming otherwise,
but pocketing the contributions for the BIG DIG coverup).

I have taken a stand, difficult though it is, compared to the alternative.

It's the people who collapse their principles, squeezing out all the conservatism they claim to uphold and value, to support the nomination and election of a known pro-abort, pro-sodomite liar -- it's they who won't take a stand, who support a NOTHING: Mitt Romney.

Another thing that Romney will have to do to keep from being DUMPED in Tampa is to fire his new appointee Michael Leavitt to head his transition team, and replace him with someone who wants to REPEAL AND ABOLISH Obama/Romney”care” FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely the campaign should be repeal and replace. Obamacare has certain benefits that the public likes, e.g., "children" under 26 on their parents policies, insurance for the uninsurable. The Reps will have to deal with those issues as well as the fact that our current system needs reform.

Coburn, Tom Price, and other Reps have plans extant to fix our broken system including the use of HSAs, obtaining insurance across state lines, etc. Repeal and replace is the correct strategy, politically and practically. It is not enough to be against Obamacare.

I absolutely accept the consequences of every post I’ve ever made.

And I intend to continue to support Romney over the Evil One, not matter how much negativity you throw into the mix.

You and your posse cannot wait to post unsubstantiated stuff like this just to satisfy your sick hatred of Romney which apparently transcends your dislike of Obama AND your love of our country.

I don’t ask to be taken off your ‘ping’ list because I’m afraid of answering for my posts.

I just don’t want to hear any more of your lame opinions.

How does the old saying go "If we only did business with nice people we wouldn't be doing business at all"?

The guy is appointed to head the transition team not be VP.
He's probably a good organizer or whatever... I honestly doubt that's a position that requires extensive vetting.

Hey W..illard,
Turn the ship in the right direction, cut out this social enginering crap, and appoint conservatives to the bench and I, and a nation, will hail you ammoung the greatest Presidents ever.
Continue on with business as usual and you are a one termer and you and the Neo-GOP will be dispised.

You idiots are messing with our very existence and we are suppose to to glad you are not quite Obama?
You had better think twice.

The lesser of two evils is still evil.

I do not love having government decide who will and who will not be given medical care, so I oppose every candidate who is for or has implemented that.

Contrary to your assertions, that does not equate to hating my country.

The bad things about Romney are not made up. If he is your guy, you get them with him.

If the Republicans make Romney their nominee, he can damage the country I grew up in even more than Obonghit because he will continue to implement the same policies under the auspices of the Republican party. I would rather see the Republican Party die - being an independant conservative to the right of the Republican Party.

But but but wait - I thought the Romney supporters on here were furiously assuring us that Romney was going to slash away ObamaCare root and branch, like some sort of Ronald Reagan on steroids?

Looks like the Etch-a-Sketch was shaken again. Surprise, surprise.
