Jurors will be selected Monday to decide the fate of an illegal immigrant from Mexico who has admitted guilt in the drunken driving crash that killed 38-year-old Houston Police Officer Kevin Will last year.
Johoan Rodriguez, 27, pleaded guilty Friday to intoxication manslaughter in the May 29, 2011 wreck on 610 North Loop freeway. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. His attorney, Rick DeToto, said he is also eligible for probation.

"He's accepted responsibility for his actions. However, we don't agree what the appropriate punishment should be and that's what we need these 12 people to decide," DeToto said. "He did a bad thing. It's an accident, it's a mistake, it's not an intentional act and unfortunately it was a peace officer. This is just one part of his life. This is just one night."
He was deported twice and came back a 3rd time, he is MS 13 gang member. Mistakes unacceptable when you drive drunk switch off your sob stories, he did bad, alright a police officer is dead, it was no accident, the illegal was so drunk,high and wasted he killed somebody, not by accident but by driving drunk and being high.Acoording to KHOU-->Defense attorney Eric Clay admitted that his client had been living in the country illegally, but said he’d been here for most of his life and even attended – but did not graduate from – Sam Houston High School. Clay adamantly denied the prosecution’s allegations that Rodriguez was a gang member.
"He’s been in the country for 20 years, came over as a 6-year-old child. Went to high school here. And he is not a gang member. He is not affiliated with MS-13. That’s a falsehood," Clay said. "He says he has never been affiliated with a gang, especially MS-13."
Clay said Rodriguez works in construction, building homes, and that he’s never been arrested before.

Awaiting Holder-dork’s Department of Sleezy Losers to demand that the jury speak only Spanish, and remember, don’t even THINK of checking their birth certificates.
