Marine veteran arrested at labor union rally in Wisconsin issues a statement (Update)
Paulding County Republican Examiner ^ | June 3, 2012 | Christopher Collins

Paulding County Republican Examiner reported that on Friday, a U.S. Marine veteran was detained and arrested by police after being heckled and yelled at a rally hosted by former President Bill Clinton for Democrat Tom Barrett

The veteran’s name is David Willoughby, the son of Naples, Florida Tea Party founder Barry Willoughby. Early this evening, he released an email statement concerning his arrest and detainment. In relating his experience, he said, “My name is Dave Willoughby. I am the one in the video.”

“Without being told what I had done, I was handcuffed and escorted off premise. Placed in a squad car and taken to a police station. I asked if I should have my rights read to me and was told "You're not being arrested." My personal property was taken from me, I was fingerprinted, mug shot taken and locked in a dark jail cell, lights off, still handcuffed, “said Mr. Willoughby.

“I sat in that jail cell, looking out of a meshed wire window, at a large American flag flying in the background. Where am I? How can this be happening? What did I do wrong? I prayed for strength. When I swore the oath to protect and defend the Constitution, I never realized until recently, how vulnerable our precious freedoms actually are.”

“I did nothing wrong, “said Willoughby. “There were literally hundreds of cameras at this event. I challenge all media to find one shred of evidence, which would support the actions of the Milwaukee PD officers.”

Whether charges against David Willoughby will dropped is not known at this time.

Willoughby ought to get a large protest in front of the police department made up of vets like himself.

Anyone read about the Bonus March of 1932? Veterans descended on the capital and pitched tents to protest non-payment of bonuses. The Army, commanded by a an officer named McArthur, was called out to quell the protest and encampment. Before it ended the troops opened fire and a number of vets were killed and wounded.

If any wavering voters read this thread, THAT is the picture of Barret’s Wisconsin, THAT is the picture of America with a re-election of this cretin now in the White House. Obama has already told the Russians he’ll have more “flexibility” after his re-election!

I was once 100 percent pro-law enforcement, until events I personally have knowledge of and others occurred.

Amen fellow FReeper. Crapgame mentioned memory, which immediately make him granpa aged cop, and how some cops are not union thugs. He is right, when they were Peace Officers I did ride-alongs with them and they were fine fellows deserving of support. The new officers are Law Enforcement and are as useful as a dead cat and dangerous as a dog with rabies. There are a FEW good ones but I'd throw the baby out with the bathwater on this, get rid of all of them and start fresh. The bathwater is too polluted to save.

Lawsuit?

Maybe Bob Barr of the ACLU would be interested.

That is an awesome idea. And say to the people of WI: “Barack Obama would not come to Wisconsin and stand up with Tom Barrett and the Union thugs, who are backing him. But I’m glad to be here today to stand with this Marine and great American.”

(I said Marine instead of “Ex” Marine because the Marines say “Once a Marine, always a Marine.”)

Our military leaders are in fact pushing the Sea Treaty, and yesterday a general wrote that our government should use US troops for law enforcement in the US.

Wow. I thought conservatives had a much brighter outlook on life. Pardon me while I take away your broad brush, and wish you well.

Let me just say that as a 22 year vet and a DoD civilian employee, your delusional. One retired General forgetting the cardinal rule of our military, never to be used against its own people does not a policy make. Active duty and civilian leadership of the ,military do not espouse political policy. Its kind of against the rules.

Wow. I thought conservatives had a much brighter outlook on life.

Is that a government sponsored message from 1940s? ...harhar.

I'm confident America wasn't won or built by yes men with Pollyanna smiles, with Boy Scout attitudes. Most are positive and upbeat, but not while being fleeced, assaulted and robbed. At that point, the grey poupon country club attitudes and ideals get a bit scarce.

"Pardon me."

This guy needs to get a lawyer who will sue filthy, urine-flowing-down-the-street, scumbag-infested Milwaukee into bankruptcy.
