Arresting someone legally protesting on private property or public property is a lot different from keeping the clan and the naacp away from each other. What if a man had a racist tattoo on his forehead and wanted to walk into a place of business run by blacks. Could the cops legally stop him from going in? Wouldn’t that be the same as the cops beating the hell out of black protestors because they tried to go into a Birmingham diner?
