‘Sluts’ Unite Against Republicans, Rush Limbaugh
Watch out Republicans, here come the sluts.
Women’s rights activists are banding together to “Rock the Slut Vote” in an online effort to register women to vote and cast their ballots against Republicans in 2012.
“If the GOP thinks that throwing the word ‘slut’ at us at this point is going to silence women they have another thing coming,” said Susan McMillan Emry, the site’s founder.
Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh thrust the derogatory word into the political arena in February when he called law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” for testifying before Congress in support of contraceptives.
Following the national backlash over Limbaugh’s name-calling, “Rock the Slut Vote” is now aiming to “diffuse” the offensive term, Emry said.
Taking a vein from comedian Jeff Foxworthy and his “You might be a Redneck if…” jokes, Emry’s website gives visitors 22 reasons why “You might be a slut,” including “if you’ve ever used contraception” or “if you’re still downloading Dixie Chicks music” or “if you don’t go to church.”
The site aims to “re-appropriate” the word “slut” so that Limbaugh and other Republicans cannot use it to “bully and silence women,” Emry said.
“It’s really about taking the power away from that word more than it is about Rush Limbaugh,” she said. “He gave the word the notoriety but we are trying to take it back.”
Emry said the “Rush Limbaugh mess” coupled with the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s decision to cut Planned Parenthood funding and recent efforts in state Legislatures to restrict access to abortions and contraceptives “compelled” her to create the site after 56 years on the political sidelines.

Canada recently had its second annual “Slut Walk” in Toronto. Not quite sure what it’s about - they were a weird bunch, no doubt. All I remember is them saying something about “sexual empowerment”....whatever that is.

BTW, in case anyone is interested, Ms. McMillan-Emery is apparently the CFO for McMillan Study Guides, whose bread and butter seems to be training materials to help Air Force NCO’s prepare for their various exams and something called a CDC (not sure what that is).

I believe the whole thing behind that "movement" is that women should be able to dress however they want without having to worry about being assaulted. It started after a Police Official made a comment that women should consider how they dress in an effort to avoid rape.
Simply put, this is a democratic party operation. If it wasn't, they'd also go after famous misogynists like Bill Clinton, John Edwards, Jesse Jackson, etc, etc, that happen to be in ANY political party.

Well, not exactly. Rush gave the word as an “attenion-getter”. The Dhimmicrats and the NAGs took offense and made the hue & cry in the negative sense.
IRRC, Rush called her a "Slut" for saying she needed thousands of dollars each year for contraceptives.

According to this dictionary definition, Fluck has identified herself as a "slut". Rush's main issue is that Fluke wants US to pay for her promiscuity supplies.
Rush should not have used that term, as he himself finally did admit. However, this is of course a completely inaccurate depiction of the context - first of all, she did not "testify before Congress" - it was a Democrat Party caucus meeting designed to look like a committee hearing. Secondly, she did not merely testify in support of contraception - she testified that she saw on the faces of women all over her campus pain because they weren't getting free contraception and many women were all but going bankrupt because of it, so essentially she wanted other people to be forced to subsidize her sex life and those of others, including having religious institutions have their basic freedoms under the Constitution be disregarded.
