Jesse Jackson says GOP Gov. Walker is segregating Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Speaking at two rallies Sunday and Monday, Rev. Jesse Jackson compared Wisconsin GOP Gov. Scott Walker to segregationist Alabama governor George Wallace and said Walker is perpetuating segregation in Milwaukee.
.
.
“Why is Milwaukee so segregated and so-locked out? Because of a lack of access to transportation,” Jackson told the press alongside a group of local church leaders. “If you are in fact on welfare, you can’t own a car.Without public transportation, you can’t get to the job, and the job can’t get to you.”

That is why, Jackson said, Milwaukee has become the “poorest and most segregated city in the state.”

“The governor of this state refused to accept $800 million from President Obama,” Jackson said, drawing boos from the small audience outside a downtown municipal building. “He turned down the jobs creator. That was money for Americans who can make the steel, lay the rails, build the trains, unite Milwaukee and Madison and Chicago, and put Wisconsin and Illinois and America back to work.
.
.
Under Barrett’s leadership, African American joblessness rose by 150 percent in Milwaukee.

Jackson appeared at both events in a Mercedes Benz S550 and was escorted by a Cadillac Escalade ESV. The starting price of the S550 is about $100,000; the Escalade retails for almost $70,000.

Very wise-looking bunch surrounding Jesse in the pic. Hard working, good neighbors, and always well-mannered in restaurants and coffee shops.

The race card.
Don’t leave home in your $100,000 Mercedes limo without it.

They’re pulling out all the stops on this one: racism, child neglect, segregation, war on women, homophobia, McCarthyism, the Black Death ...

This will be a referendum on the effectiveness of those tired old cliches as much as Scott Walker.

When someone plays the race card, you can be sure they aren't playing with a full deck.

:: The governor of this state refused to accept $800 million from President Obama ::

This needs to be countered with, “That’s an $800MM bribe to KEEP all of you in the projects!”

So the solution is to take the mayor of the city with these problems and make him governor of the whole state?

Jesse probably has the parable of the talents mixed up in his mind. As he remembers it, the man who was given one talent went and lost it all at the race track, but then was praised and given the talents which had earlier been given to the other two men.

The Race Card for Jesse is like the ace card hidden in the gambler's sleeve - The card is played when the it looks like the game is lost.

“Because of a lack of access to transportation”

When I lived in Milwaukee, in the 70’s and 80’s, there was a great bus system. I went years without even owning a car! Are there no buses now?

“When I lived in Milwaukee, in the 70’s and 80’s, there was a great bus system.”

Jeffrey Dahmer rode a bus to work there; he didn’t like being so close to black people (unless he was killing them, apparently).
