I didn’t hear Chris’ show this morning. Will look for that call on the podcast this afternoon.
The bussing is not uncommon. I know it’s done in Philadelphia all the time but they are from retirement centers in the city. Not illegal.
I'd peg the accent as Attempted Upper-crust English, but I'll defer to snugs (or somebody else from Great Britain) for confirmation.
(I'm ninth-generation Welsh-Irish on Mom's side and really speak better cow than what is called Proper English. Still can peg a phoney pretty quick, though---and this person sets off all kinds of alarms.)
