“...Rep. Allen West (R-FL), but Allen would be too much of a lightening rod for the liberal media.”
West would be my choice for Romney’s VP. May be Romney needs a “lightning rod”. Plus it would help him with the black vote IMO.

I'm a big fan of Scott Walker and agree that selecting him for the VP slot would be a brilliant move. That being said, I also believe Walker's agenda and Romney's agenda are diametrically opposed. Romney would no sooner select Walker for VP than he would Palin ... a candidate he and his team stabbed in the back only a few short years ago. Romney isn't good enough to share a ticket with Walker, and his ego knows it. It's not going to happen.

but without Palin's negatives that chase away the middle.

Yeah, we really must continue to allow the media to define conservatives and invent "negatives" for any candidate who happens to be true bloue conservative.

“Bob McDonnell, gov. Virginia WILL BE VP. It is the BEST choice out there.

“I’d be quite happy with McDonnell. He’s done a great job as Governor here in VA... not flawless, but no one is. McDonnell is an outstanding campaigner as well.

He sounds good to me. We need someone who is both conservative, but conventional in some ways, a middle-aged man in a suit who knows how to present himself to the media. They’ll be forced to listen to his policy ideas if he’s personally bland.

“Bob McDonnell, gov. Virginia WILL BE VP. It is the BEST choice out there. This would guarantee a win in a swing state and a Senate seat. He wants the job, he is term limited out. A governor who has turned around his state and is more conservative than Romney.”

I like McDonnell a lot. He would be a very good choice for VP!

” WILL ROMNEY CHOOSE A SAFE RUNNING MATE? “

The GOPE’s fine socialist nominee is monotonous, intends to stay monotonous and may very well go right along with a very monotonous VP pick, as a part of his seeming “calming strategy”, to address the extreme hypertension that exists among the electorate.

Romney is likely a geek and likes geeks, and it wouldn’t really hurt to have a fiscal geek, under the circumstances.

Anyone with a pulse will be out (unless it is Ryan, a genius busy at the calculater, who does not belabor social issues or stir the blood of the impassioned to stay relevant). Some of the rowdy ones are great stumpers, but are not known for brains nor special talent for fiscal science anywhere in sight.

I will be surprised if it is anyone with a heartbeat.

Zzzzzzzzz.

Shatter both political parties and pick Hillary. So why did Bill Clinton give Romney such a sterling approval statement. .001% chance of it happening but it would require lots of popcorn to watch the next several months.

Rubio, Walker, McDonnell, Martinez...anyone of them would be good. Just as long as it’s not Condoleeza Rice. Anti-Israel and a mediocre SecState.

In a word, yes.

His game plan is clear. Keep smiling, lie low, stay out of trouble, and just wait for Obama to implode.

Not saying that’s the best plan, but that’s his plan.

I hope it's not Rubio. Not that he would be worse than the other choices, but rather that I would prefer to see him stay in the Senate. I'm hoping the Republicans take back the Senate and he becomes a major player. I don't want another spineless Republican majority just wanting to get along. His time in leadership position in Florida showed he would compromise when needed but was also not afraid to play hardball and stand his ground for conservative principles.

Just so happen Gov. Daniels is on the 2012 Bilderberg guest list:

My question would be; do Pols and financial big wigs from other countries help pick OUR leaders?

How about Allan West or recruiting Gen Petraeos? Romney, with no military background, would be wise to have a VP with military record.

Is Condoleeza Rice even an option ? Or is she too close to the Bush years?

And please, no Palin.

I want someone who is experienced at handling the pressure. Condoleeza has always come across to me as one of the smartest people in the room.
