'THEY have diamond bracelets and designer handbags galore but the arm candy that Hollywoods leading ladies really want is... a British bloke.
An army of famous American beauties including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kristen Stewart, and Claire Danes have fallen for the charms of our home-grown hunks.
The latest convert is The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence.
The 21-year-old actress from Kentucky is dating About A Boy and Skins star Nicholas Hoult, 22.
And Jennifer is clearly taken with the Berkshire boy. She said in a recent magazine interview: British men have these wonderful manners, and everything they say is funnier just because of the accent.
Here, we look at other trans-Atlantic celebrity couples while relationships expert Dr Pam Spurr an American who has a British hubby reveals what their body language says about them.
And she also explains just what makes our fellas so fanciable.'

Yeah. American girls are enamored with your ugly teeth and the pallor of your skin.
And yet the American southern accent has wooed many a European lass.
And British girls are lovers of your fat arses and cholestorol choked arteries.
By all means, please take them back to England with you!
IMO, the very best looking men in the world are of British origin, but there are a lot of nations with a considerably better average.
And the pictures in the article explain why GB has such a low average.
Ick.
Let’s tally the number: 4 ?
Not to be to cryptic, Betty had notably large hands in a peasant blouse.
As a Texan I know British females are hungry for American men, I got the impression that they are starved for real men and are amazed at how good things can be for them.
Well, they ARE all English, lol.
No Scotsman, Welshman or Irishman. LOL.
No Gerald Butler, Ewan McGregor, Dougray Scott, Liam Neeson, Pierce Brosnan, Christian Bale.......
Ah, she probably only met middle class mummies boys then.
Having been to America, I see no evidence that you are more manly than UK men. (then again, I am a Scotsman). And such Texas swagger is a turn off for UK woman. Actually Texas swagger is a turn off full stop.
American men might have seemed manly to British women once. But not anymore.
(Kristen, 22, has spoken of her love of all things British especially the steak and kidney pie.)
Yuck! Apart from the weather, the most awful thing about England is the cuisine. You would think that some of the good food tastes from France would rub off just a little bit on their British neighbors. I’m unhappy to report...not one bit!
My daughter at 18 thought Sean Connery, grey hair and all, was the hottest thing to ever walk the earth. Technically Scottish, but UK none the less.
IMO, it comes down to accent and the “””perception””” of old style chivalry. The accent? Well, American men don’t have it and recent generations have been taught that what was once normal gentlemanly treatment of women is now sexist.
IOW, they like men that act like men, not pussified doormats. Whether most modern Brit men “are” that way or not is another thing. But Hollywood shows them as such and Hollywood is never wrong...
Its not THAT bad.
The English tend to overcook veg, but most English food is good, simple fare from shepherd’s pie to puddings, cakes to toad in the hole (god, I am hungry, lol).
Scottish produce is finer: Scots beef, Scots salmon etc.
NI and Welsh food is fine also.
I do prefer steak pie to steak and kidney pie though.
A steak pie is a thing of beauty.
As is fish and chips.
LOL, you have the sound of pleading desperation, and what a British male thinks is a “swagger” is merely walking.
I didn’t realize that they found our walk so intimidating as to try to convince their women that it was a bigger than life male “swagger” and to be ignored by the female of their species.
The British women do love their Texans.
That’s why in pure nu.berserk and as a percentage of capita your women come to America....
Ah, there’s no understanding dames on either side of the water. All the Brits I met in the service were first rate guys, and so were the Irishmen, Scots and Aussies.
As far as what man American celebrity females prefer...as long as they are so busy fawning over whatever guy they’ve bagged, wherever he’s from, that they don’t have time to raise money for Obugger, I’m all for it.
As a Scotsman, I am intimidated by no-one, and certainly not a Texan. Sorry bud, but we havent been intimidated by better men than the boys from the Lone Star State.
Most British women I know find the Texan male look a bit silly. The cowboy hat, jeans and spurs look all a bit of a cliche. I know two women, one Scots, one English, who lived there and couldnt stand it.
And the Texan attitude to outsiders does come off as a bit of a swagger, a bit arrogant. A bit ‘everything is bigger and better here’. Even to many of your fellow Americans. It may not be intended that way, but thats how it looks.
Breaking News.....
My daughter, 20, just came back this week after spending half a year studying in Europe as an university exchange student.
She met people from almost all European countries. And she says the European boys seem more mature, have better manners, and act more gentlemanly than American boys.
Just 1 anecdote, but it is close to home and recent.
#1 American men aren’t so enamored with generally fat, slutty, and domineering modern American women. At least they don’t have much interest in marrying them. #2 Go to any overseas US base and you’ll find no shortage of foreign women who adore American men. These women are not necessarily from third world countries, contrary to the opinion that foreign women are only looking for a green card. Single American men, for example, are in very high demand in Japan, and many don’t return to the US after marrying and starting families with Japanese women.
No way, based on the teefs alone!
Sorry, it is too late for you to try to come off as a man.
This pleading thread you posted has desperation written all over it.
LOL, British men are too manly enough to attract American girls!!! whine! whine! Read the Sun!!!
Sure you are, that is why you post a thread about some Hollywood people.
I just came back from Greece.
sigh.....
Saw more than a few really good looking sexy guys - that came off as way more masculine than the self-absorbed types that you mostly see here.
BWAAAA HAA HAA!!! OK, if you say so.
I'm not from Texas, I'm from Tennessee. There are some slight differences but we are a lot alike. I've been living outside Newcastle for many years, and female attention is definitely one of the benefits of living over here. The women here largely are slags without morals so catching their attention isn't difficult, but as soon as I open my mouth, that deep voice, and my southern drawl make a lot of knees weak.
Respectfully I have to disagree with you.
I think Connery would take exception to that characterization. He is a leading proponent for Scottish independence.
I know that was in jest, but the obesity is epidemic in Britain as well. Both countries have their fair share of lard-arses.
US obesity rate: 30% in men, 35% in women
UK obesity rate: 25% in men and women.
And both countries’ rates will increase over 50% for both genders. The problem is due to a combination of junk disguised as “food”, high soda/cornsyrup/sugar intake, and of course inactivity/lazy/welfaresucking poor people.
To interrupt a pissing match between ALLIES...actually I am wondering WTF is going on here? We are supposed to be on the same side...because if we aren’t, then shit’s even worse than it appears right now.
Until it gets independence, he might not like it, but he’s still UK.
Stereotypes are funny. Americans have this idea that British people are all a lot of middle to upperclass posh English southerners with rotten teeth. The Brits believe that Americans are all a bunch of dumb fatasses.
If the truth be told, you will see more fatasses in Britain and more rotten teeth in the states
grate skawt.
I am a supporter of multiculturalism. Gimmie a Japaneese redhead with a Brit accent and...large tracts of land and I will haZ a happy ;)
I think you are reading way too much into ‘why’ I posted.
As to my manhood, as a Scotsman, and a former British para, I am ok with my own manhood thanks. BTW, I do actually like Texas, am very proud of the massive Scottish contribution to it, and part of my replies have been to wind you up. Texans are a bit cocky, so be it.
Stereotypes are indeed funny, and you yourself just promoted them. LOL, unreal!
You give the impression you dont like much about the UK, lol.
I agree the NE girls are famously a bit, erm, loose. I think the attraction is that you are a ‘Yank’, I doubt many NE ‘lasses’ can identify your accent.
I think a lot of UK women in general (and I know women from all over the UK, from rough girls to posh gals) find certain American male traits offputting. The women I know who lived in America seem to prefer British (or Aussie, Kiwi) men.
Its a love-hate thing.
There are things we love about America, and wish/are glad are here. But there are things about America and Americans we find odd or simply objectionable and do not wish to import into our culture.
We love you sometimes, sometimes you make us roll our eyes.
My own experiences when i lived in Londontown in 86 were like yours now
Stringfellows and Tramps were in full swing and I did rather well...
My Mississippi slow drawl definitely was bait.....
I had a long relationship with a blonde heiress who was British,White West Indian and Virginian
My Murfreesboro raised wife was involved with a Manchester lad fore me....he seemed ok enuff....but i got her in the end
That little dustup with Washington’s boys a while back ended the idea of English invincibility after centuries of ‘Rule Britania” so to speak. Then when we came to their aid in WW2 that had to be a blow to the ego. I’m sure if the situations were reversed, we’d feel the same.
America is (Ok,’was’) pretty much the bad boy on the block, but in the historical sense, we are still an upstart. That’s gotta carry some ‘upset’ for the countries who ruled the planet for so long.
British women think American men have good jobs with big houses. The attitude in England for most is that the government will provide for everything, and many men still live at home with their moms till their late thirties.
That is just the Scottish in me that you see as cocky.
Greatest Englishman since Nelson or Wellington was half American....just saying
The Scots are made of better stuff than the bucktoothed tea drinkers, but Texan men are obviously superior to all other sorts of men, including you skirt wearing pansies.
Drag a case of Lone Star out here to AZ. We’ll sit out in the July sun and drink it together. Then teh wimmenz can scrape your heatstroked self off the ground while we go do a couple hours of yardwork...y’all ;)
Most of the foreign women I know will tell you that American men are the most polite and least chauvinistic men in the world. That is why so many foreign women desire American men.
The feeling is often mutual.
American men have been trending towards foreign women because they are considered more eager to be dutiful wives than feminized American women.
I don’t entirely share this opinion. American women come in many varieties. I am married to a lovely American woman (half-Japanese, but she grew up here). But I have noticed the trend.
let him be Ansel.
He’s obviously buggered a fee to many Welch and having imbibed a bit much tonight found himself longing for a long neck Mick.
Well, there ye be...Be off wit yuh.... yuh bugger hole....
Look dude, I’m just messing you.
I’m of Scottish, Irish, English and German Descent. I gots naw problems wit yooos...
Bitchin...Bruthuh....
The dude abides....
There’s a very simple explanation. If a girl ever needs to get rid of her Brit the hard way, there will be no dental records to identify the body.
