Dear XXXX,
A year and a half ago, Gov. Scott Walker and his friends in the Senate forced through an extremist anti-worker agenda that divided the state. Last night, Wisconsin took back its Senate. While Gov. Walker remains in office after being only the third governor in American history subjected to the humiliation of a recall, his divisive agenda has been stopped cold.
Though Walker was shielded with a flood of secret corporate cash, Wisconsin made its voice heard. While we came closer to recalling Walker than many expected, we ended up coming just short.
The work we did together was about much more than just this one election.
We laid the groundwork for a powerful movement to push back against Walker-style anti-working family policies everywhere. The energy and momentum in Wisconsin have inspired working people from all walks of life to stand together in solidarity in unprecedented ways.
We cannot stop now. Click here to sign our solidarity pledge to commit to building on the momentum working people created in Wisconsin and beyond to protect good jobs, working families and workplace rights.
Wisconsin is a small piece of a broader global movement of people pushing back on the corporate-driven policies that have favored the super-rich at the expense of good jobs, education and the health of our communities.
And we are winning. Weve seen it in Tunisia, Yemen and other countries where the Arab Spring has taken hold; in Greece and France, where voters rejected the failed, Draconian policies of austerity; and here in the United States, where members of the Occupy movement continue to shine a much-needed light on Wall Street greed and ballooning economic inequality.
Working people are making history every day through their courage and resolve to work together for a better world. For you, it may have begun with Wisconsin, but it should not stop there.
Click here to sign our pledge of solidarity to say you will continue to stand with other working people to protect good jobs, working families and workplace rights.
Thank you for everything you have done and will continue to do for working families.
In Solidarity,
Richard Trumka President, AFL-CIO
P.S. Want to be the first to hear about our exciting new campaigns planned for the summer? Sign our solidarity pledge now so you can be one of the first to receive updates.
“Last night, Wisconsin took back its Senate.”
And if the average union cheesehead is as dumb as they were yesterday, they will throw money at the screen as if a Senate that isnt even in session will be able to do anything!
Frankly? This country, the real-tax payers and workers with traditional American values, will have to turn out in force - enough for a 6-10% victory that will offset the 3-5% cheat Obama is looking to accomplish. 3-5% is what they’re aiming for. It’s all they can afford and it’s all they can afford to hold together the lies enough until November. They’ve solidly got 43-45% - solid, ever since Clinton. They’re fighting in Florida on ID crap because they know if they can’t cheat with illegal Mexicans, criminals and Snowbirds voting twice, they’ll lose.
We have to turn out all the voters we can to get above the cheat.
I’ll bet we don’t see any Republican Tweeters calling for this person’s assassination, do we? Of course not, we’re not Democrats.
this Trumka guy sounds like a real !@#$%^&.
‘working families’ need Trumka’s ‘solidarity’ like they need four dollar gas.

Trumka is an outright traitor and commie. It is time to revive the House Committee for Un-American Activities again.
Or as the Libs would say, Senator McCarthy’s House Committee for Un-American Activities.
“And we are winning. Trumka thus admits he is a commie/tyranny supporter.
No surprise to any FReeper, though.
......like you said they're not in session and up for reelection in November.
....but what else can Trumpka talk about, he's bleeding members faster than a gutted pig.
So which one of those countries is Dinosaur Dick from? He definitely isn't an American. Especially after he bragged about driving ObamaCare down the throats of Americans. Sorry Dick but you may want to update your resume.
Something else Americans should be aware of is the Secretary of State Doug Follette, in Wisconsin is a far, far left lib who got into office with the help of George Soros’ SOS (Save Our State Project). The idea is to get left wing people elected as Secretaries of State so when the election is close, the Secretary of state makes surt the left is certified the winner.
The core 20-30% are hopeless. We have to keep working on the 10-15% who just haven't been educated in conservative principles, basic American History and the reasons why America is the greatest country in human history. They need to see that destroying it is not their goal.
Education is the key. Go internet!
I wonder where they are coming up with this spin that they were outspent. Nobody outspends the unions.
Richard Trumka, just another Dick.
Geez. What a liar!
This letter makes me feel like he was standing next to the Emperor in Star Wars 6....why? Well I just want to respond “ohhh I can feel your anger...the HATE is swelling in you now!”
Trumka is blowing smoke, as usual. The WI Senate will not meet again until next year, after the Nov. election. The GOP should pick up a seat or two in Nov., canceling this Democrat “victory.” It ought to pull out all the stops and “get ‘er done” to capitalize on last night’s epic victory.
