Military chiefs consider disciplinary action for Quran burnings in Afghanistan

A recently completed Pentagon inquiry into the accidental burnings of Qurans in Afghanistan could result in disciplinary action against U.S. troops.

Gen. James Mattis, head of Central Command, has reviewed the Defense Department's findings on the incident and issued his recommendations for action to the heads of the services, according to Pentagon spokesman Capt. John Kirby.

Kirby declined to comment Wednesday on which service chiefs received Mattis's recommendations or what specific disciplinary actions were being considered.

"Each service is going to handle this differently," he said. "That is a process that [the services] own."

Up to half dozen American troops and officers face official reprimand for the Quran burnings at the U.S. airbase in Kandahar. The incident touched off a weeklong wave of violent protests in Kabul and elsewhere in Afghanistan.

Something something shall not respect or deny religion. Oh well I’m sure those sworn to uphold that document will do so.

The simple directive here....when you have a junior enlisted guy who thinks there’s a coded Quan that’s been taken from a prisoner....is to have a box at the headquarters, with a pre-made address on it. You mail it/ship it....to some warehouse in the middle of Utah, where the box sits there for forty years (don’t even write another line to the regulation). This takes the junior enlisted guy and the commander off the hook. As for the warehouse? Well....I’d hire up plenty of government workers to sort the boxes, and place them on shelves....call it green jobs.....and just smile as each box is put on the shelf.

There are traditional Muslim means to dispose of defaced Korans and one of them is tossing them in a river. Surely there are Federal facilities on lands that have rivers.

This is, at WORST, a protocol goof up. Why they should be going after anyone’s hide, unless they were told how to dispose of the books and refused the orders, is utterly nonsensical to me.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

I'm wondering what Mattis REALLY said, or what ELSE he said.

Actually, it’s a lot of fun to fight. You know, it’s a hell of a hoot… It’s fun to shoot some people. I’ll be right upfront with you, I like brawling… You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn’t wear a veil. You know, guys like that ain’t got no manhood left anyway. So it’s a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them. General James Mattis

Oh, to have been a fly on the wall when he heard about the queeran being burned.

I see, so now it will be considered an hostile act by our troops. WOw. What kind of genius comes up with that. So Islam can be enemy of jews, Chinese or Russians but not of us? Islam is peace with us only. What kind of special people do we think we are, going after the “special act” for fear of thinking of a global strategy against Islam? I guess it is not PC for the US to think in general terms, and our officers have less leadership than a sergeant earning them the term of E5 or O7 wannabe.

The sun coming up touched off a weeklong wave of violent protests in Kabul and elsewhere in Afghanistan.

The sun going down touched off a weeklong wave of violent protests in Kabul and elsewhere in Afghanistan.

My dog taking a poop touched off a weeklong wave of violent protests in Kabul and elsewhere in Afghanistan.

Oh my, bad dog. bad. Here have a treat.

Hey, if it was up to me I’d gladly poop on the books (before they were burnt to reduce them to less voluminous ashes).

But anyhow, at least now American strategy, such as it is, in Islamic countries (including the fickle and back stabbing Pakistan) involves trying to make as nice as possible with supposed “moderate” Muslims, those worldly enough not to want to follow through with Mad Mo’s plan to the hilt, at least not right away. So the US forces try to be respectful to these “moderates.” Why doesn’t the blame land right in Obama’s lap, as CIC, for not directing properly how to dispose of these books? Why is the blame going to the lower downs, who probably were not well briefed on such matters? Are THEY in charge of coordinating diplomacy? Certainly not! Some high muckety muck is getting scapegoats made for him or her.

How about a three S policy.
Shoot it (just for fun).
Shovel it.
Shut up about it.

Nachum...just how long is that list now, 100 miles? (sigh)

After our wins in WI yesterday, November cannot come soon enough, and then a fast movement of time until January’s inauguration day. The damage Hussein will do in between could be (will be) horrendous.

Keep praying for America, everyone!

No joke. I got a program to copy my website. In theory, it was supposed to copy the pages to my hard drive and then I was going to copy it to a zip or burn a CD. After 20 minutes of copying I was afraid I was going to have too much data for my hard drive and halt the operation.

One day, I will have to buy a second hard drive and copy it all to the second hard drive where it will live in infamy forever. If Obama manages to get a second term, I will ....shoot my computer. If Romney wins.... I'll shoot my computer. :(

If you need extra ammo....hee hee hee.
If the worst happens, I will again get to be pals with the guys at Gander Mt.

The joy of my awesome Governor Walker’s win last night, was indescribable. Kicking Hussein out will be 10 times sweeter.
Then perhaps the truth about him will be more wide spread and we will live to see him rot in the federal pen.

Hey, a girl can dream, can’t she?

: )

“....accidental burnings of Qurans in Afghanistan could result in disciplinary action against U.S. troops.”

.
It was an accident — why the disciplinary action?

I wonder if Romney is going to continue this national muslim ass-kissing if he should occupy the WH? If so, there is no need to even vote in November.

Military chiefs consider disciplinary action for Bible burnings in Afghanistan

“CNN) — Military personnel threw away, and ultimately burned, confiscated Bibles that were printed in the two most common Afghan languages amid concern they would be used to try to convert Afghans, a Defense Department spokesman said Tuesday.

The unsolicited Bibles sent by a church in the United States were confiscated about a year ago at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan because military rules forbid troops of any religion from proselytizing while deployed there, Lt. Col. Mark Wright said.

Such religious outreach can endanger American troops and civilians in the devoutly Muslim nation, Wright said.”
