Comes from the anteater in the old BC cartoons. It basically means “Gotcha!!” In BC, “Zot!” appeared every time the anteater nailed a bug. An FR thread is “zotted” when it is removed. A sharp, pointed remark against another person can be a “Zot!”, and Ann’s nailing Murphy with the “0 for 9 Schrum” label is a major “Zot!” for sure.
