ORANGE COUNTY, Fla.
A quick-thinking customer at an Orlando 7-Eleven stopped an armed robbery by kicking a knife out of the crook's hand and chasing him out of the store with a wine bottle.
The good Samaritan's actions helped thwart a robbery at the 7-Eleven on South Orange Avenue just after 2 a.m. Thursday.
Surveillance cameras captured the whole confrontation on video.
In the surveillance video, the crook with a white bandana covering his face walks into the convenience store and pulls out a knife and demands cash from the clerk and a customer.
But as soon as he does, the customer steps back and grabs a wine bottle from the shelf and then kicks the knife out of the crook's hand.
The customer then chases him out of the store while the clerk calls 911.

Orlando Channel 13 reported that the crook did get away with some cash.
I like the way the customer just casually grabs a bottle of wine in preparation for the fight to come. He was cool the whole time. The robber was just plain stupid.
what kind of wine do they sell at a 7-Eleven? http://bumwine.com/
Amazing! I prefer something in .357 magnum at ten feet or better. A knife cut to the Tibial or Peroneal artery would be upsetting. In the extreme.
Is that right? I was watching WFTV and the customer said he knew he had better do something as this guy was serious with that knife and meant business. I was amazed to see his fast kick.
classic!
LOL!!!! I know I couldn’t have done what he did.
“I know he wasn’t kidding because he came after me,” said the customer. “I ain’t going to let that dude stab me, so I am like, ‘Boom!’”
“A lot of people would call you crazy because this guy had a knife,” said WFTV reporter Tim Barber.
“It is what it is. You know what I am saying? You don’t think about it at the time because he’s like, ‘Yo, robbing the place give me all your money,’ and I am like, ‘Are you serious?’” the customer said.
They should let the customer keep the bottle of wine!
My Karate teacher (from KOREA) said never confront anyone who has a knife. He then tells of a student who ended up with the knife buried in his calf, between the tibia and fibula.
Of course if one is attacked, GO FOR THE KILL. He said “Hap to depend.” (have to defend)
Yes. I like how he did that. The guy was focused on the wine bottle and not his foot.
er...you did notice that the robber is white and the customer who stopped him is black, right?
Since race is not mentioned in the article, I assumed the perp is black.
I could be wrong, I can't be certain from the video.
