I miss the sounds of a 1403-N1 printer and 1401 card reader. I also miss the “thump” that the access mechanism made when it repositioned on the hard drive. The sound of a vacuum column tape drive auto-loading was musical.

it was musical except for those times you instead heard the irritating fwap fwap fwap fwap fwap fwap fwap sound.

I had the joy of watching a Telex tape drive go into a runaway spin without a tape being mountedon it, the sight of several men running and ducking for cover, the sight of the hub exploding and the SOUND of shrapnel flying all around the computer room.
