I disagree. Right before he delivers the line he pushes his tongue into his lower lip....kind of an, "I'm gonna be funny here.....watch out!"

I think the confusion and embarrassment comes when he realizes that:

A: Dang - I forgot the cameras are running! and

B: Bo snores.

Well, I guess he’s gonna have to throw TOTUS under the bus.

Still, as others have mentioned on this thread, if he didn’t realize how the joke would be taken, he’s totally frigging stupid. Oh, right... we knew that.

He’s talking to a group of gays — people who are proud to define themselves by their sexual proclivities — and he’s surprised that they see everything he says through a sexual filter?

I almost suspect sabotage by a Hillary operative in his speechwriter pool. Any way you look at this, he’s stepped in the deep doo-doo, and has no one to blame but himself.

Thanks; I got my experience the hard way.

To those who think Obama just didn't know...then why does it fit his pattern to a T? Don't you remember when he gave both McCain and Palin the middle finger? Back then some said he didn't really mean it—as if extending the middle finger full length at just the moment when you say is someone’s name [that you despise] is a normal, every day practice.

I also recall people arguing that he didn't really call Palin a pig. Let me tell you something. Malignant Narcissists LIVE to trick people into not realizing they've been made fools of. Few things are more crucial to a MN than ‘proving’ he is smarter than everyone else. One of the all time favorite methods for doing this is exactly what you see Obama do: i.e.: giving someone the Finger while innocently claiming he never did. Calling someone a pig and then sitting back and laughing his butt off when his leagues of defenders claim he didn't do it. Making a shameful sexual joke about his own wife, and then giggling himself half to death when his faithful troops rush out to swear it never happened.

This is what Malignant Narcissists do. It is, as I said, what they LIVE to do. You cannot envision the pleasure and satisfaction Obama gets when his loyal defenders claim, w sincere, straight faces, that he never did this to Michelle. It means he once again ‘got away w it’. When he gets away w it, it makes him feel like the smartest man alive. W all the negative polling, the loss in WI, and other bad signs for his reelection, Obama has never needed to feel superior as much as he does right now.

And he succeeded. He stuck the knife to his own wife, and then had the vast amusement/gratification of watching his mindless supporters exonerate him.

Obama is one sick—but at the moment very happy—sociopath.

With that interpretation, Fantasywriter, I think you’re being true to your name (sorry if you hear that all the time :-). It seems obvious to me from the expression on Obama’s face that he didn’t want that kind of reaction. I won’t go into the details here that I mentioned in the other thread. Fooling people is what gives Malignant Narcissists great, almost indescribable pleasure. Be glad you’ve never known a MN. On the one hand, it leaves you wide open to falling for their oldest and most predictable tricks; on the other, it spares you all the misery of having to get to know what a MN is all about the hard way.

Obama may very well be a malignant narcissist (I do have the impression that he has a big ego and does many things that are harmful to others and to the country), but unless he’s a much better actor than I believe him to be, he’s not being malicious in that video.

MNs are some of the best actors who ever walked the face of the earth. I’m on my way out the door, but when I get back I will (plan to) relate a true story that highlights the acting chops of a MN I knew up close and personal.

He should have won an Academy Award. More later.

Well, we’ll probably just have to agree to disagree about the video, and let people look at it and make up their own minds. I’ll check back to see your story about the other MN, though, if you wish to post it.

NOT buying it Edwin...

At BEST this shows how fake and constructed Dear Leader is. to believe he “didn’t know” is to accept that EVERYTHING he says is pre-scripted and on TOTUS.

At WORST this shows what total lack of concern and feeling he has for those closest to him (his “wife.”). TOTAL malignant narcissist behavior. Making another the butt of the joke for his agrandisement. On a lesser scale, HOW MANY times has he interjected his daughters (and no doubt “composite” sons) into political topics for HIS BENEFIT?

I just want to know, was Val Jarrett there? Because there is a weird dynamic in that three way marriage, and Meeechelle GAVE Barry the “cred” needed to start this sham 20 some years ago, and yet Val is I charge (and making some boneheaded mistakes) and now Meeechelle stands to lose her perks over “crap like this.” and also be made to look the fool. Ouch! My theory, it got ugly last night and today (Limbaugh was ALL over this) in the family quarters.

"If he didn’t want that reaction why would he say it?"
I'm with the Breitbart/Nolte take except Nolte fails to note That Obama was just reading the teleprompter.

My question is was there a "[pause for laughter]" entry after the "joke" and if so who wrote the joke? As usual Obama didn't have a clue ... ;-)

It is hard to believe ANYONE would think the “joke” was an accident. I just watched the clip and that was without any doubt whatsoever said on purpose. How can people be so gullible as to think it was an accidental double entendre?

Although many MNs may be good actors, I’ve never thought Obama was very good. Oh, he’s apparently fooling a few Freepers on this thread (unless they’re trolls, which is possible) and of course he fooled all those voters, but compared to some actors, he’s not very good. He’s just a little too above it all.

One thing he does which I think is part of his condition is he will say something, a mistake, and then a few days later repeat it again, and perhaps a few more days later repeat it again. Sort of like saying, “See, it wasn’t a mistake.”

He’s done this numerous times, the most recent being the “my boys” incidents. Do you think this is part of the MN syndrome?

I appreciate your description above of MNs. It was super clear and understandable. Please ping me if you can when you write your true story.

Here is my story. A MN, his best friend [take careful note of that; it is important] and I were listening to some blues tunes. One singer was talking about being a ‘backdoor man’. The MN turned to his best friend and me and asked, w perfect casual curiosity, what a ‘backdoor man’ was.

I know my own IQ and would put it up against anybody’s. The MN’s best friend was a graduate of MIT. I.e.: neither of us were stupid. If we had seen or heard the slightest hint of dishonesty we'd have reacted to it. All either of us saw was off-hand conversational nonchalance mixed w sincere curiosity.

So we briefly answered the question, and went on listening to the music. I never gave the incident a second thought, and I doubt the MIT person did either.

Years, MANY years, later, the MN said to me, ‘I can't believe how stupid you and X were. Anybody who listens to blues knows what a backdoor man is. I only asked to see exactly HOW stupid you and X were. I wish you could have seen how ridiculous you looked, taking that idiotic question seriously. I still laugh every time I think about it.’

The above vignette does not describe a big ego. It describes a sick, twisted ego. That is what Malignant Narcissists have: a warped, perverted ego. Obama has one. Anybody who's spent any time at all w a real MN spotted it immediately. He is a very sick person and he behaves in very sick ways.

The double entendre—which is exactly what Politico called it when it first reported the incident—is no more than what Obama makes a habit of doing. He does something juvenile and offensive—such as giving McCain the Finger—but does it in such a way as to allow for plausible deniability. He laughs a little at the people who get it—he loves their frustration, in being told they cannot “prove” he did what he did—but he laughs hardest at those who defend him. They are the rubes that fell for his trick (just as X and I ‘fell’ for the trick blues question), and they are the ones he truly despises. He sees them as the stupidest people of all, and just as did the MN in my story, he laughs every time he thinks of them.

I doubt you will be convinced by reading this. Obama's defenders seem willing to give him the benefit of the doubt every time. Anybody who's spent any time at all around a real Malignant Narcissist sees through Obama instantly. He is a nasty, calculating person who can only reasure himself of his (supposed) mental superiority by fooling those around him. Whenever someone like you falls for his ploy, rest assured you make his day--for whatever that's worth.

Thank you for your kind and insightful words. I posted my story in #57. I agree w you that Obama is not an especially good actor. I watched the video and it looked to me like he was only frowning so as to be able to tell Michelle it was all an innocent mistake. It didn't look the least convincing, though—as I'm sure he ultimately did not intend for it to be.

I'm backtracking a bit on my interpretation of Obama’s mistakes. For example, at the time he spoke of “Marine corpse men”, I put it down to ignorance. Having thought about it, I realized he did exactly what he intended to do: he insulted US Marines to their faces by calling them murderers: i.e., creators of corpses. He is a very vicious man.

I think he speaks of ‘sons’ in a deistic way. That is, it was never a mistake, but a god-like gesture on his part to indicate how vast his POV is. He looks around at his subjects, and he sees ‘sons and daughters’. Like a king, but (in his mind) even higher, mightier and more majestic. That is my honest interpretation of this ‘my sons’ kick he's been off on for some time now. Does it make any sense to you?

Thanks again for your post. It's so easy to spot those who have no clue what a MN is all about. Part of you almost envies them—at least they didn't learn it the painful way. ;)

Sorry for the length of the following posts, but I believe the question of how to oppose Obama effectively is an important one. Let me first make it clear that I’m not for “moderation” and a “kinder, gentler” political discourse. I favor hitting Obama hard with arguments that are difficult to refute (and he’s given us occasion for plenty of those).

As the basketball center Bill Russell used to say, though, “Don’t come in here with any of that weak stuff” (referring to players who drove the lane but weren’t able to finish). The claim that Obama maliciously intended that joke to have a double entendre seems like a weak one to me, backed by far-fetched theories that will have little credibility with most persons. Antipathies do affect perception. If we wish to argue effectively, that’s a weakness we have to resist.
