Republican Wanggaard won't concede defeat to Democrat Lehman in Senate race

RACINE, WI (WTAQ) - Van Wanggaard says he’s not about to hand control of the Wisconsin Senate to the Democrats, without a thorough review of the votes cast in his recall election.

The Election Night tally showed that Wanggaard lost to Democrat John Lehman by 779 votes, or 1.1 percent out of 72,000 votes cast Tuesday.

But Wanggaard tells WRJN Radio in Racine that at least 600 absentee ballots have still not been counted. The station says there have been reports of voting irregularities throughout Racine County, and problems with the unofficial tally.

So Wanggaard says he’ll hold tight before conceding, and see what the county’s official canvass has to say. That canvass is required to be done by June 15th, and Wanggaard could then seek a recount no later than June 20th.

He said people across Wisconsin and the country have asked him to seek an immediate recount – but he can’t until the canvass is done. If the canvass shows that he lost by more than one-half-of-one-percent, his campaign would have to pay for a recount instead of taxpayers.

Wanggard defeated Lehman in the last Senate election in 2010. If his loss holds up, Democrats will have a one vote majority in the Senate at least until the scheduled fall elections.

On election day, I was streaming a talk show out of Milwaukee. At some point during the show, I heard that the Democrats were saying they had a “Plan B” in case Walker won. Stealing the Racine seat must have been that “Plan B.”

While this is bad for Van W. personally, it's possibly a very good thing overall.....While the state is more than ready to move past all this recall nonsense and get something done, Democrats are Democrats - they won't be able to help themselves.

I predict continued bad behavior on their part - this "win" emboldens them even though it's pretty much symbolic. And that total fool Mike Tate is now the Senate Majority leader. This is the perfect situation to keep all those people who came out for Walker motivated through November. If that happens, the State Senate flips back, Ron Johnson gets a Republican team mate in the US Senate, and BO gets kicked to the curb. WIn WIn WIn.

good. every legitimate vote should be counted. fraud must be exposed. otherwise, we don’t have a case for election reform.

if he needs help, i’ll support him. and if he runs again, this makes him a keeper.

There's another consideration that most have forgotten. After the 2010 elections GOP controlled the senate 19-14. For some kinds of bills a quorum of 20 were required (and still are as far as I know), hence ALL the Rat senators fled to Illinois as preventing that forum was their only way to stop Walker. They finally returned and Walker's bill passed. Then started the recall efforts. The Rats managed to steal 2 GOP seats prior to this election, but somehow none of their fleas faced recalls.

If the Racine theft holds the GOP will probably gain at least 1 seat in the fall to take back narrow control. BUT can they take 4 seats to get to the 20 supermajority to prevent a relapse of fleas? If the GOP can hold this seat and gain 3 more, and they claim to have 2 or 3 decent chances, they'd get more done next year.

“Put the threat out there - make the RATS play on defense, even if it’s (not very) feasible. The blood is in the water.”

Absolutely.

Turnabout is fair play.

Take the battle to them on the same terms that they use against us.

Make them fight for every vote, particularly when it looks like they’ve been a-tryin’ to steal some....

That’s what I’m saying!

Yes, I can see the voters getting turned off in some cases, but, the bastard RATS need to have their own “medicine” force fed to them.

Good for this guy to hang tough. Make the rats sweat as long as possible, and stay mreciless and relentless in exposing rat vote fraud.

....let them have their little win

No freaking way.
Sweat out the rats for as long as possible and demand prosecution of every conceivable instance of rat vote fraud, mercilessly and relentlessly. Denad recount after recount, and be sure to "find" a few boxes of "uncounted" ballots. Twist the liberals' nipples until they scream, and then rip their throats out just for a laugh.

No. Do NOT let the scum have any win, ever, without an all-out war.

That is not the Walker way. We need to make sure that people see a distinct difference in the parties and how they behave.

If Wangaard loses the seat, I'd appoint him to the GAB.

Wangaard is right.

The votes need scrutiny with a 1.1% difference.

We know that the seat is moot—the Senate is not in seession again until January 2013, and if the Dems retain the seat they are in the majority, but an election takes place in Nov. 2012 which will most likely favor Republicans in a newly redistricted seat.

That is not the point.

The point is, any voter fraud by the Dems and the unions needs to be exposed NOW for two reasons:

1. Fraud must always be exposed. The Dems count on the Pubs to always rollover and excuse the Dems’ lawlessness.

2. Fraud that is exposed will strengthen the case for the newly passed voter ID requirement that goes into effect for the Nov. elections in Wisconsin, because you can bet, the unions and the DOJ are going to raise opposition to this.

Folks, the stakes were ENORMOUS last Tuesday in Wisconsin. We are only three days removed, but history will show this was a fork in the road for the survival of our nation.

The unions were very heavily invested in this election to maintain the status quo over the public trough. nmuch more than is known right now.

They are not going to take this massive loss lightly.

And we should take no loss on Tuesday lightly either.

Fight for the seat and to make sure the voting process is vetted. I want to know more about those busses coming in from Michigan that the auto workers set up. There has to be traffic cameras with video, and others who saw this happening.

I know.

But a little “get-even-with-’em-ism” is sweet.

“Scott is the man....”

I agree. he’s the goods.
