At a height of 80km the missile would be visible to anyone within about 350km to it. S.E. Russia is about 1300km from Israel. So I don’t know what they saw but unless my math is very bad it was NOT the Russian ICBM test.

Sort of like the Russina missile test in 1997 which crashed 400 miles south west of southern California but somehow managed to pass over Vancouver BC first.

What ever it was was huge. There are videos of it taken in Seattle night sky at the time. But what they show was only the last embers as seen thru city lights.

Here's what I wrote at the time:

I was on the beach at Quilcene, WA digging clams. It is located to the north and west of Seattle. The beach we were digging on is a large flat at low water, stretching for over a mile between the Olympic Mts on the immediate left (West) and the Coyle Peninsula on the right (East). We were located about one third the way across the flat toward Coyle.

There is very little light from the surrounding area, since it is sparsely populated. The Moon had just gone down. The sky was clear and still bright from the setting Moon, but a few stars were becoming visible. The normally inky black sky had a slight grayish cast. It was before low water, which was at 10:39 PM PST (Bangor Tides), and just after we began work. So, while we did not have a watch, it was around 9 PM PST, maybe a few minutes later.

We were taking a short break in our work, when one fellow looked up and saw these objects appear in the West and to our North. While they initially appeared to be moving slowly, it was quickly evident that they were at a very high altitude and were moving at speeds far faster than any jet. I have watched jets making contrails in the sky. The progress of these objects was far faster. Of course, there was no sound as they passed.

They were apparently far out over the Pacific Ocean, when we first saw them appear. Because of their apparent high altitude they appeared above the mountains to our West. We watched them before they began to pass our position until they had passed from sight far to the East over the Coyle Pen, which rises some 400- 600 feet above the flat.

The objects did not move relative to their apparent course, which seemed to be parallel to the surface of the Earth. That is, they did not jump about, but proceeded in a straight line. It was apparent that the smaller objects, which were specks of red light, would appear to fade. But, “new” smaller objects would appear, seemingly keeping the relative density of the clusters intact.

The number of objects was far to great to count. However, despite the initially very dense formation, there were about 2 dozen objects that were larger than the most of smaller ones. There was one object in the apparent vanguard which appeared larger than any other. The apparent length of the formations was many miles long. I'd say at least initially some 10 to 20 miles, judging by when we first saw them, until the last had passed over head. The passage time is difficult to estimate, but it was several minutes from the time we saw them appear until the last had passed over us.

Since the tops of mountains are several miles West and the vanguard was far to the East when the last object had passed Mt. Walker, 10 - 20 is a minimum.

This is what I saw when these objects first appeared over the Olypmic Mts:

The smallest objects were red like embers one may see flying up from a camp fire The next larger objects were a dull yellow or bright red The largest objects were yellow tingesd with red.

As they appeared after they had passed over head:

Most of the smaller objects were gone now. Only the medium and large objects remained. At last sight, only the largest object was visible and had turned a dull red, and seemed to be fading rapidly to black.

Some while after the objects had vanished, an enormous high linear cloud formation appeared, stretched, on the same course as the objects, from horizon to horizon, drifted south with the slight northerly breeze. Then it also vanished.

I have seen many meteors, large and small, as well as meteor showers. This was not like any of those. Usually meteors dart, or swoop toward the surface quickly. I once saw a single meteor moving across my field of vision at a low altitude. It's course, while slightly parallel to the Earth, had a pronounced downward arc.

These objects, while very beautiful to watch, were scary, because they moved on a straight course, and did NOT seem to be descending on any arc, but rather burning to nothing as they traveled, “vanishing”, without crashing to the Earth.

Aside from the unusually trajectory, the other highly unusual aspect was the distinct bands. Had the objects all been in the same band, it would have been unusual enough. However, the two bands were separate with no apparent matter between them.

There was NO solid objects beyond the burning roundish bodies and embers, contrary to what that Seattle couple reported. They are in a high light environment, so what they saw is not accurate.

The woman in CA saw some thing at 6PM PST which was over 3 hours prior. Not related.

The object when it first appeared spanned the entire distance from mountain top to mountain top presenting initially as a gigantic fireball before disintegrating. Emotionally, it felt like someone had just died - go figure.
