I Have a bunch of questions on this one. Where did the “couple” get the license, Georgia doesn’t and won’t recognize “gay” marriage, it is in the state Constitution. What did the marriage signify since the couple isn’t open to military benefits. I thought the military had to follow state law unless there was a more stringent military law, ie convoys, often convoys travel slower per policy and regulation than state high way laws but they can not exceed the posted speed limit!
The problem here...is typically, your installation commander follows the laws of the state. For example....if legal drinking is 21...then the base observes that at the enlisted club and drinking establishments on base. If the state has certain driving rules, then the base typically observes those. So I can see why the state is acting this way and asking questions.
The curious thing is if Chaplains will start performing ceremonies like this....while on combat tours in Afghanistan. I’m pretty sure that the Afghan government would be also curious about this.

In the article it states.With the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell,” the Department of Defense announced that military chaplains would be allowed to perform same-sex marriages on military bases as long as they were not held in violation of local law. ‘
This will be changed from would be allowed to-—will be ordered to perform same-sex marriages.
Another article I read on this suggested that it was a union ceremony and not a marriage. The facts need to be determined, and if it was a marriage, then there needs to be a determination of the type of marriage certificate used and the issuing authority. Then some heads need to roll, but that won't happen under Obama. (As an aside, the chaplain performing the ceremony, according to the other article was a United Church of Christ pastor....the same denomination as Obama and Jeremiah Wright, iirc.)
I suspect, given Romney's coming out in favor of gay couples last month that he won't do anything either. This would be that “gay couple” that Romney spoke of.
So, America, here is what you've got. Sodom and Gomorrah. Hope Obama makes you happy. You voted him in.
As for Romney, if he doesn't go on record denouncing this and promising to quickly reverse it, then good luck getting God's blessing just because you balanced your checkbook while you OK’d your kids getting molested by gays — if they manage survive the abortion chambers.

I’m not a Bible scholar, but I believe that Jesus takes a dim view of misusing holy places. What’s that story about the Temple and the money changers? Something about “My Father’s house”?
It was more of a protest setup, as activist homosexuals are wont to do. Even though it was not official, don't think that that will stop them from demanding full benefits and recognition from the government. They will push, against all their fake assurances, until they get what they want - and more.

Unless our military chaplains can get the new regulations imposed upon them overturned, their best bet may be to simply stop marrying any service members.
Yes, I realize that this is an extreme position to take but what other choice do they really have? Go against their beliefs, God’s law and their religious oaths or wait until saner heads prevail and the grand social experiment (perfect description) of gay marriage and openly serving gay military members is removed.

The radicals will welcome chaplains quitting. They will all be replaced by radical “chaplains.”

Anyone know if Todd voted for the repeal of DADT? Does anyone besides me wonder how the repeal of DADT ever got through a Republican controlled House?
First of all, he voted against it.
Second of all, the repeal was passed in the lame duck session of the 111th Congress (Pelosi's final term as speaker) on 15 Dec 2010.
IIRC, there were only 57 Democrats and 2 independents voting as democrats at the end of that Congress. IOW, there’s no way the Republicans could have been prevented from blocking this if they had truly been a conservative party.
