Without even reading the entire article, likely are hard coded burned in chips that are hard to disable. Time to inventory all, one-by-one for replacement, and junk the Chinese sabotaging and espoinage equipment.

Doesn't matter now, they have us by the cajones. We don't even know the extent of the problem yet.

Military systems that are supposed to be secure wouldn’t be on the public internet, so there would be no way for any Chinese parts to get the signal that they are supposed to shut down.
Still, it could really foul up the normal civilian internet which would wreak a hell of a lot of financial havoc.

Whomever approved defense purchases from the Chinese is, at best” a “gross ignoramus”: 144 times worse than an ordinary ignoramus.
But most likely, they are simply a traitor, worthy of being shot on sight.

They could put software into the things that, upon a certain signal from China, would cause them all to shut down, or software that could allow them to eavesdrop on any conversations at will...........

My distant cousin who is a high honcho in the Chinese Communist Party in Beijing (long story having to do with the Russian Jewish community in China after the Russian revolution) claims that the iPhones and the iPads among other electronics products manufactured in China have a secret back door that allows the Chinese government to listen in on the calls and the Internet connections. And they do, he says.
To: Mount Athos
We did the same to the Soviets when we sold Poland phone switching equipment with back doors that would have severed communications with their armies in Germany.

Make me think Russia, China or whoever could drop a few nukes in our laps before we even know what’s going on.
Another reason for Barry to take a hike.

Military systems that are supposed to be secure wouldnt be on the public internet, so there would be no way for any Chinese parts to get the signal that they are supposed to shut down. Right. I got the idea from the article that the military stupidly procured Chinese built equipment for their secure DSNET.
[Proudly posting on FR without reading the complete article since forever! ;-) ]
