Skip to comments.White House: Cory Booker is “dead to us”

When the Obama campaign sent popular, telegenic, man-of-action Newark Mayor Cory Booker out to do a little surrogate-advocacy on their behalf last month, something happened that the Democrats certainly did not intend: Cory Booker made a very public display of intellectual integrity (I know, I know a rare beast in politics, but it can happen). On Meet the Press, Booker said that Team Obamas attacks on Mitt Romneys record at private-equity firm Bain Capital and other such petty campaign tactics were nauseating and made him very uncomfortable. And it felt so good.
But the Democrats didnt take kindly to Booker making such a distasteful spectacle of himself and shooting one of their most prominent attack memes straight through the heart, and before the day was out, Booker had released a four-minute explanation that even the MSNBC anchors called a hostage video." Then, Booker went on Maddows MSNBC show and made it look like he had been commanded to walk back his comments from on high and the hits just kept on coming.
Booker is a relatively young and clearly pretty ambitious politician but hes going to paying for this one for a long time yet.
"Newarks mayor, who was gunning for a spot in President Obamas Cabinet, lost the chance after he shot his mouth off during a blunderingly honest TV appearance last month, sources told The Post."
Hes dead to us, one ranking administration official said of the prevailing feelings at the White House and Obama headquarters in Chicago.
He should change to GOP, where people are allowed to think for themselves.

Anybody else having flashbacks of 7th-grade girls' recess conversations?
Sure hope he isn’t on the ‘kill list’.
Ubama thinks loyalty is a one-way street.
The dims have there very own “Fredo” Corleone”!
Cory seems to be a decent fellow. Maybe he can learn to walk down a different side of the aisle. His gait may be bit different after being tossed under the bus.
If they picked him for a cabinet position today (although none are currently open that I know of) he’d barely get confirmed by the senate and settled into his new office before Mr. Obama is out of the White House (God willing) so why bother? Maybe “president-elect” Romney will take a look at him now for something like HUD or some such.
Yeah, maybe. What about free thinking Olympia Snowe?
Mayor Booker actually is doing a decent job in the hell hole that is Newark.
But he is still a demorat.
She's dead to us.
Bill Clinton got Bookered today also. Valerie Jarrett strikes again. She is the weak leak.
You must be right about Valerie Jarrett. So much of the nastiness that comes out of the White House seems like the behavior of a vengeful woman and not a man. I really wonder if the dopey Obama has much control at all in his admin.
If you believe Ulsterman Report’s White House Insider, then, no, he doesn’t. Jarrett completely runs that guy.
Typical Chicago politics. Shocking, I know.

Do we really want him? Looks like he’s bending over backwards now to get back in the good graces of his master.
I wasn’t thinking of the 0bama azz kissing faction.
Time for a little snook fishing on Lake Tahoe?
I bet he eventually will.
Wouldn’t that be a kick in someone’s azz. lol
You mean all the other RINOs and GOP-elite, like: Susan Collins, Arlen Spector, George Voinovich, Lisa Murkowski, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, etc etc etc.
“I really wonder if the dopey Obama has much control at all in his admin.”
I’ve always read him as a sock puppet. He goes where he is sent and says what he is told to say.
The only reason Obama is not the ass of the Nation is because he has maintained total loyalty in the media and Dem Party. He will sink fast if he starts springing leaks with people pointing out that the emperor has no clothes.
