NBC's Snyderman: It's 'Pro-Science' to Abort Children With Genetic Defects
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/kyle-drennen/2012/06/08/nbcs-snyderman-its-pro-science-abort-children-genetic-defects ^

On Friday's NBC Today, chief MEDICAL editor Nancy Snyderman explained to viewers that it's just good science to abort an unborn child that may have a genetic disorder, explaining that testing for such conditions, "gives parents a chance to decide whether they're going to continue that pregnancy or not. This is the science of today." [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]

Snyderman then predicted: "I think the future will be such that you'll find out that your child may have a genetic hit. You can fix that genetic problem, and improve your chance, a child's chance..." When co-host Savannah Guthrie raised ethical questions about aborting children under such circumstances, Snyderman matter-of-factly replied: "Well, I'm pro-science, so I believe that this is a great way to prevent diseases."

Science is a neutral thing like fire or water. It can be put to evil or good uses. In this case the use being proposed is evil.

Ok one last post. Two days ago I took baby girl in for her 9 month appt (and argument about us not using vaccines with aborted human tissue) and there was this lively 16 month old running around. He was perfect. He had not a single defect. His parents told the waiting room that at 18 months pregnant they had been told to abort. Mom could not carry to term and baby had spina bifida. The blood tests said so. There you go.

Let’s see, Nancy. Homosexuality is genetic, isn’t it? That is one of your fundamental assumptions. So if we test and see that gene you’re OK with an abortion on that basis?

For that matter, race is genetic so that would be a good basis as well! Oh, wait, that’s already happening at Planned Parenthood, and with your blessing!

Getting a bit overripe in there? (badoom tish)

Of course you mean 18 weeks. Anyhow isn't that far enough along that the unborn can be physically scanned? Even if spina bifida was feared and abortion (perish the thought) were countenanced? Without corroboration, I would trust most of these genetic tests as far as I could throw the centrifuge.

This desire for “perfect “people! Fact is that Hitler’s ideas were consistent which much of elite thinking of his time. Only his militarism and thuggery were “out of line,” because even then the elites preferred a “soft” tyranny. Even in Hitler’s Germany, of course, the people were won over more by propoganda and bread and circuses than by brute force. Goebbels learned a lot from Hollywood and Madison Avenue.

The probability of error is great, but doctors want to play it safe. Spina bifida is often diagnosed but the body repairs itself.

Why is it that lock-step loony left wing moonbats ALWAYS try to justify their murderous nonsense with “science”?

Case in fact: Bloomers in NY wants to stop “obesity” by curbing how much soda you can drink at a sitting. His rational? Obesity costs the taxpayer money in shared medical costs, he says. Well, golly gee whop!

I.e. PUBLIC FREAKIN BURDEN!!

Well now, as a biker who fought the helmet fight, let me tell you, you want to talk PUBLIC FEAKN BURDEN? LET’S TALK EFFING AIDS!!

Aids is a FOR REAL public burden. Its costs to the health care system are WELL KNOWN, its root cause is completely understood; unhinged, irrational, senseless and selfish behavior.

Until the nannycrats force ALL HOMOS WHO ENGAGE IN THEIR DESTRUCTIVE LIFESTYLE TO WEAR THEIR EFFING HELMETS BEFORE THEY “DIVE IN”, don’t tell me how to effing live, how to ride a motorcycle without my “helmet”, what to drink, what not to drink, what to smoke etc. etc. etc.

These people are COWARDS OF THE WORST SORT. Go begger the queers for their lean on the “public burden”, after that, I might just listen to you.

The very first beginning of The Holocaust was a National Socialist program called “The T4 Action”, and it was run by physicians who decided whether the individual’s life was “worth living”. If not, the crippled, mentally ill, “retarded”, and so forth were killed, at first by lethal injection or starvation but later in gas chambers disguised as showers. I’ll re-emphasize that the program was run by physicians as part of the National Socialist health care system. It “euthanized” over 100,000 humans before they started in on Jews and Poles.

The very first beneficiary of this “Biology in Life” effort was a young boy.

All quite scientific and rationalized.

We seem to be starting T4 even earlier, before the child is born. A related story is the one in which over 3800 genetic problems can be determined based on samples of the mother’s blood and father’s buccal DNA sample.

Sorry all.

Yes, it was a science rant, just a little misplaced.

Using “science” to justify the killing of an unborn child is just as stupid as Bloombutts war on soda.

It makes no sense whatsoever.

Pro-Science to Abort Children with Defects? It's already gotten to the stage that gender is a defect. We have routine abortion in the U.S. for sex-selection. The Chinese are routinely aborting second children - those who manage to make it to live birth are ripped from their parents and slaughtered with no more compunction than one would show a rodent.

I am the father of a child who some would say is "defective." He is a child of God. I would not unmake him though it would spare me, my wife, and his brothers and sisters much disappointment, embarrassment and anguish.

I'll take the hits, whatever they may be - the "quality of life" does not depend upon the circumstances into which one is thrust - it's not a question of whether one's faculties are impaired or not - it is rather the quality that one brings to those circumstances.

My son Daniel, who is autistic, has just turned twenty-one and graduated from Kennedy Krieger High School in Baltimore, Maryland.

When he was four, they told us he was retarded. When he was seven, they told us he was severely emotionally disturbed. When he was nine, we took the County to Administrative Hearing to get him out of the County Schools and into private placement.

We prevailed in that battle and he was placed in Kennedy Krieger. Now, he is preparing to enter the workforce and become a productive member of Society. I wonder what Dr. Snyderman would make of that!

What we see around us today is where Liberalism, secularism and feminism have brought us as a society. Look for retribution on an Old Testament scale to the flagrant and widespread evil of our day!

Nos genuflectitur ad non princeps sed Princeps Pacem!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

This is just wrong.

I know of two instances in my own circle of friends in which their inutero babies were diagnosed with deformaties due to sonograms.. Both mothers refused to abort.

In one case, the baby was determined to have no arms. Surprise, not only did he have arms, he has a baseball scholarship to a very good college.

In the other, the mother was assured the baby would be born dead. Surprise, he is a 6 foot 6 inch tall pediatric nurse today.

Go figure how reliable these tests are. And..in any case, it’s your kid, no matter what.

Years ago, I had a then-girlfriend who saw Dr. Snyderman regularly as her regular physician. Even back then, the doctor had made very clear her pro-abortion views.

Unfortunately, shortly after that, Dr. Snyderman started her gig as a medical correspondent on a TV station in the San Francisco Bay Area and eventually went national.

Yep. What are these people going to do when we can detect the ‘gay’ gene or the ‘liberal’ gene? Abortion might not be so fun then.

What kind of hubris makes these people believe they would have survived the abortion filter if their parents had information about how they were going to turn out and abortion was truly guilt free? Heck if most parents were shown video of what their babe in the womb would be as a teenager not many would survive.

Life’s lottery worked the opposite for my family. Our daughter’s prenatal tests showed no abnormality, but our grandson was born with a severe form of spina bifida. Surgery on his first day of life closed the hole in his back.

His legs were motionless the first year. He pulled himself along the floor with his elbows, or rolled to get around, a smile always on his face. By two he could crawl on all fours. He took a few halting steps in a walker at three. Last month, nearly four, he pulled himself to standing, then climbed the stairway on his hands and knees.

Some year down the road he will be able to walk. He is lucky. He is a happy boy and brings joy and inspiration to many.

Science in the form of medical excellence saved his life the first day. Thank God for it. Science used to terminate a life such as his is nothing
more than murder.

Another interesting aspect:

The lead role in Hitler’s eugenics was by physicians and the medical profession. It was a ‘national health issue.’

The largest group of professionals, by percentage, who were Nazi Party members were doctors.

Good information on T4 and the point of the medical profession.

I listed one before, but these two films gave me the best understanding of the core of Nazism - and I’ve read a very great deal about it over the years. These films very well done and most people are unaware of a great deal of this history.

Good point. The Democrats are so pro-abortion they won’t stop abortions because the child is an unwanted gender, primarily female. So why deny the right to abort homosexually inclined children, who are at a higher risk of mental illness and contracting fatal sexually transmitted diseases?
