National Motto Showing Up in Orange County Cities [and elsewhere]

By this time next month, the city council chambers in Anaheim, Calif., will have some new art for visitors to look at — a large plaque over the city seal declaring “In God We Trust.”

Council members voted unanimously last week to buy the plaque and place it behind the dais because “it’s part of what America means to us,” Councilwoman Gail Eastman told the Orange County Register.

That makes Anaheim the seventeenth city in Orange County to add the motto, which was reaffirmed by Congress last year. And the county is not unique: Ninety-two cities throughout California have done so, as have 281 cities and counties nationwide.

This may be due, in large part, to the efforts of In God We Trust ~ America, Inc., a Bakersfield-based organization working to promote the motto’s adoption.

“This is part of free speech, our First Amendment. And we do have the right to display what Congress originally adopted as our national motto, ‘In God We Trust’ back in 1956,” said President Jacquie Sullivan.

“We have not had one legal challenge (so far in California) because there’s nothing to challenge,” she added. “We are proudly and prominently displaying our national motto, and we have the right to do that.”

Minnesota has one city thus far -- Elk River -- that has approved display of "In God We Trust" in its chambers.

From an eMail I received:

As you walk up the steps to the building which houses the U.. S Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row of the world's law givers. The one in the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal view ... It is Moses and he is holding the tablets with the Ten Commandments engraved on them.

As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the two huge oak doors have the representations of the Ten Commandments tablets engraved on the lower portion of each door.

As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see the wall, right above where the Supreme Court Judges sit, a display of the Ten Commandments!

There are Bible verses chiseled in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington ,

James Madison, the fourth president, known as 'The Father of Our Constitution' made the Following statement:

"We have staked the whole of all our political Institutions upon the capacity of mankind for Self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to The Ten Commandments of God."

Every session of Congress begins with a prayer by a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid by the taxpayer since 1777.

Fifty-two of the fifty-five founders who were instrumental in giving us the Constitution were members of the established Orthodox churches in the colonies.

Thomas Jefferson worried that the Courts would overstep their authority and instead of Interpreting the law would begin making law an oligarchy the rule of few over many.

How then, have we gotten to the point that everything we have done for 220 years in this Country is now suddenly wrong and Unconstitutional?

Our "leaders" no longer remember (or want to acknowledge) that this great country was built by those who believed in GOD and the Holy Bible.
