A Galveston woman used a paintball gun to detain an intruder long enough Friday for police to arrest him, according to the Galveston County Daily News.

When officers arrived about 10:30 a.m., they heard the sound of the paint ball impacts and found the man inside covered with yellow paint, the Daily News reported.

Elvis Alexander, 53, was charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit theft, said Lt. Michael Gray, a Galveston police spokesman.

According to online records, Alexander remained Saturday in the Galveston County Jail on $40,000 bond.

He was accused of taking coins and Ramen noodles from inside the house in the 1100 block of 36th Street, according to the Daily News.

Breaking in for Ramen noodles shows the absolute desperation of the perp. She is lucky she could slow down someone SO completely out of their mind.

Not to mention if the perp gets splattered with paint, he ought to be easier to ID and detain.

Having been a paintball player, most fields have the guns set to a maximum of 200 feet per second. That’s still fast enough to be very painful at close range and it will leave bruises and welts for several weeks. If the young lady gave him several coats of paint, I’m sure the bruises will remind him not to do that again.

Sad, what 0bama’s doing to his people, with the help of Judas Jackson and Shifty Sharpton.

He could have lifted them to greatness with help from the Republicans but
instead he keeps them dependent and convinces them they should be thankful that he is their owner now. Very sad.

Yeah - until you blind or deafen the intruder and he sues you in civil court for millions. Not even sure a marker would be covered under "stand your ground" laws.

The type of weapon used is relatively unimportant. If you are justified in using a firearm and deadly force, you are justified in using less levels of force.

There you go again... using common sense.

Stop it.

It all depends on the wording of the applicable legislation. I bet some slimy lawyer or liberal judge (did I repeat myself?) would find a way to ignore it in a case like this.

First - Good for the lady. It isn't an FN FAL, an M15, a .410 Shotgun, or even a .25 Cal Sat Night Spcl -- but it worked. However, I sure hope her Paintball Gun isn't her only means of self defense in the house.

I only say this because if she's like 'addicted' to watching Dog The Bounty Hunter she may have gotten the VERY WRONG impression from Dog's 'army' of Paintball Gun Commandos -- who act like they're Seal Team 6, running around with their Toy Guns in their SWAT-Ninja getups -- that a Paintball Gun is 'dangerous weapon'. So like Dog and his Commando Army, that's what she uses.

['series'] When I saw the episode where they were 'trained & qualified' to carry Paintball Guns I wanted to poke my eyes out. That program has jumped the Shark 105 times over. It's now utterly ridiculous and totally unwatchable.
