Your Electricity Bill is About to Necessarily Skyrocket
Breitbart. <3 <3 <3 ^ | 6-10-12 | Derek Hunter

Posted on 06/10/2012 6:59:56 PM PDT by netmilsmom

In January of 2008, then Senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama, talking about his energy plan, told the San Francisco Chronicle, “When I was asked earlier about the issue of coal…under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket…” He wasn’t kidding.

While he was talking about his cap and trade plan, something that went nowhere in Congress, even when Democrats controlled it with a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, his objective of changing how we generate electricity hasn’t changed. Neither has his lack of concern for the cost to consumers.

President Obama hates coal because he has deemed it too “dirty.” It’s also the largest generator of electricity in this country. Were there a cheaper, easier (and even cleaner) source of electricity generation the market would have embraced it because that’s how markets work. But there isn’t, at least not yet.

I seem to recall reading that due to the high cost of electricity and shortages, thousands of elderly in France die each summer. Maybe that's where Obama was going to be able to pay for the half billion dollars Obamacare was going to steal from the medicare fund. Fewer people on medicare, means immediate savings.

The EPA has done nothing but lower our standard of living. Private property rights are the key to preserving the environment. Look at the worst environmental disasters and they are always caused or abetted by government.

Troubles me that I have to agree with you.
And we can thank the government schools for creating all those fools. Their presence on the voter rolls didn't just make Obama possible. These critical thinking impaired idiots made Obama INEVITABLE!
And if we don't take back those indoctrination factories from the left, worse awaits us down the road

I am not in favor of eliminating the EPA, because without it, this place would look like post-Soviet Russia by now, maybe worse.

BS!

The vast majority of the U.S.A. will not willingly live in filth and trash. Never has.
Only the very young and ignorant would make that assertion. Too many of those also believe that history didn't exist until they were born, so no one remembers what it was like decades before the EPA or the EQA. Give me a choice of pre or post EPA, I'll take "pre" every time. The country would be better for it.

I saw the evolution of the "environmental" gestapo and the insatiable hunger for more power and control over others' lives. The tens of trillions$ wasted can never be recovered. Plus, the major infrastructure created generations before the EPA which benefits tens of millions of US residents would literally not be "allowed" today.

Ponder this. America is very rich in natural resources, coal being a major one. It seems reasonable to think if someone wanted to be dictator, that someone might want to eventually funnel the riches inherent in those resources into his own pockets. Just think of the power in the world he would have with such a treasure. He would definitely not want any of that treasure to be used before gaining full control of it. As I think of past world history, my musings on the state of our own nation do not comfort. Only insane, drug and alcohol infested people would want the cost of electricity to skyrocket in this nation. The “revolutionaries” among us must be defeated.

It needs to be reigned in and scaled back (very significantly) to its original mission.

Most people don't have a clue what its original mission was.

While he rants about helping the middleclass in every lying speech he really means decimating the middleclass. They want us poor and dependent on them. If Romney doesnot clean out ALL of the agencies and I mean ALL, the cancer will be allowed to survive for another day.

” even when the boy is gone we’ll still have to deal with the EPA that made it happen... “

The House of Representatives controls the purse. The Republicans control the house. An agency with no funds can do no ill and cannot enforce regulations issued in the past. The EPA does its dirty work because Mr. Boehner and the Republican party choose to fund it today. There is no need to wait for a change in the White House to reign in the agency.

Ask yourself if Nancy Pelosi were Speaker of the House under a Republican president, and the Democrats wanted an agency to stop doing something, would the House Democrats cut off funding to exert leverage on policy? The answer is obvious — yes. Now ask why the Republicans have done nothing in the nearly two years they’ve controlled the house to limit the actions of rogue agencies by eliminating funding? The answer - either they really agree with the actions of the agency or they are being blackmailed or they abhor conflict or they have lousy leadership.

Power is meaningless if you don’t use it.
