Former Penn State President Graham Spanier could face criminal charges in relation to the Jerry Sandusky case now that prosecutors have uncovered new evidence, NBC News reported this morning.

According to NBC, prosecutors uncovered emails sent in 2001 in relation to what former assistant coach Mike McQueary reported he saw in a Lasch Building shower. McQueary, a graduate assistant at the time, testified that he saw Sandusky doing something that appeared to be "severe" and "sexual" in nature.

Emails uncovered by investigators suggest Spanier conferred with former Senior Vice President for Finance and Business Gary Schultz, saying it would be “humane” to Sandusky to not alert authorities, NBC news reported.

In a statement, Penn State spokesman David LaTorre said the emails were uncovered in the process of the internal investigaton of Penn State being conducted by former FBI Director Louis Freeh.

“In deference to the legal process, the University cannot comment further on specifics of the ongoing legal case as it unfolds. We continue to work with the State Attorney General, the US Attorney and Judge Freeh in their investigations into this matter,” the statement read. “We will continue to cooperate fully with all legal processes to determine what happened and ensure personal accountability.”

Attorneys representing Schultz and former Athletic Director Tim Curley, both charged with perjury and failure to report suspected abuse, released a statement this morning saying the new evidence shows that their clients “conscientiously” considered what was reported to them by McQueary.

“[Curley and Schultz] reported it to the University President Graham Spanier, and deliberated about how to responsibly deal with the conduct and handle the situation properly,” the attorneys said in the statement.

No charges are filed against Spanier as of 10:30 a.m. Monday.

McQueary should be charged as well.

Finally someone says it. I have been thinking this for a while. Out of everyone with the exception of Sandusky, I can’t stand him second. I find him to be a little snot nosed kid who did not do what was right and now he is yelling from the roof top what happened. Well the jerk sure was quiet prior to the media....he thinks his crap don’t stink, well, I think he is worst of everyone except for Sandusky.

“[Curley and Schultz] reported it to the University President Graham Spanier, and deliberated about how to responsibly deal with the conduct and handle the situation properly,” the attorneys said in the statement. “

In other words they deliberated about how best to make it go away without doing anything.

“So what happened to “it’s for the children?”

It’s for the children when an election or money is at stake to a liberal.

When it comes to protecting one of their own, the children can be damned.

Spanier recently said he had accepted a position with a federal government agency. Turns out it is the NSA. I guess it makes sense that a guy who gets fired for covering up criminal activity gets a cushy high paying job with NSA. He obviously has friends in high places.

The pervert psych professor is PSU education professor John T. Neisworth, retired. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham_Spanier for more on this.

I believe it was pennlive.com that did a very detailed report on this scandal that I read since last November.

Spanier? With the super-secret NSA?

He could not possible get security clearance for such a job.

Frankly, I do not believe a single word this guy says.

Pa pedophile ping.

Here's hoping they nail all of the cockroaches infesting Penn and the enablers in the State that allowed it to happen.
