The only victim I see here is the 4-year-old kid. The 47-year-old man is a bug that needed squashing.
He would not spend a moment in jail if I was on the jury
The perp was from Gonzales. This was on the Austin morning talk show today.
That case was different because it was premeditated. He lay in wait for this guy, he didn’t catch him in the act of molesting his kid. He’s lucky he didn’t get murder 1. I think 5 years probation was fair.
Did the Sheriff say it to you?
Seriously, I hate to be so cynical, but I no longer accept on face value anything that the MSM reports.
In this case, I have little doubt that it was a justifiable homicide by a father protecting his daughter from a pedophile in serious need of killing, but I am relying entirely on what the MSM has reported. I would not be shocked if it later turns out to be entirely lies. I do not know what happened because I did not witness it and do not trust the MSM to tell me what happened.
Maybe nothing happened. There is no father, no little girl, no perp, not even any horses. I’ve never been to Gonzalez Texas so that may not even exist.
I’m no fan of vigilante justice, but catching the guy in the act removes even my reservations. Good job Dad.
When has stopping a crime in progress ever been called vigilantism?
And we are surely no sane society.
at face value, what do people think a father should do?....he did what was instinctive....attacked the animal who attacked his little girl....
I think I need to keep an ear open in case the grand jury decides an indictment is in order. I will drive 150 miles to Shiner to support this dad.
But Texas laws authorizing 3rd party protection and authorizing deadly force to stop rape definitely do apply -- even if the father never attended a TX CHL course.
Justice then.
And that deadly force applies even if the rape victim is not your daughter.
Hogs. Hogs leave nothing and there is no DNA to track. It never happened.
“Thats a Grand Jury Id like to be on.”
Me too.
Maybe a standing ovation could be arranged?
as a juror I would not vote to convict.
This is Texas, he won't be tried. The DA will bring this case before a grand jury, and request them to "no bill" the father, that is not bring charges against him. This will protect the father, because no future charges could be brought against the father based on the existing evidence. Any future charges would have to be based on new evidence discovered after the grand jury decision not to bring charges.
But you've probably seen this flag.
The people from Gonzales who made that flag would have approved of this father's actions.
So do I. What's your point?
