Senator Tells Holder to Resign Right to His Face (video)
Fox News ^ | 6/12/12 | Fox

Posted on 06/12/2012 10:14:12 AM PDT by Nachum

Senator John Cornyn, (R-TX) called on Attorney General Eric Holder to resign during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing today in Washington. CORNYN: You’ve violated the public trust in my view by failing to perform the duties of your office. So, Mr. Attorney General it is with more sorrow than with regret and anger that I would say you leave me with no alternative but to join those who call on you to resign your office…

HOLDER: Senator, with all due respect there is so much wrong with the premises that you started your statement with it’s almost breathtaking in its inaccuracy…The desire here is not for an accommodation but for political point-making and that is the kind of thing that you and your side have the ability to do if that’s what you want to do, but it’s that what turns people off about Washington, while we have serious problems we’re still involved with this political gamesmanship

Better yet:

Order the U.S. Marshall to handcuff Holder on the spot and frog-march him out of the Senate Chamber.

I think this contempt vote is terrific. They can squeeze his nuts in a vice. If he stonewalls (like John Mitchell), he’ll draw attention away from what the c.r.e.e.p. is doing, and possibly eventually paralyze the wh. If he resigns, then it’s Katy-bar-the-door because once blood is in the water, there have got to be plenty of others who would like to drop a dime on this bunch.

Great comment by the Senator....Holder of course had the political issue retort and the senator could have added, well, perhaps if the senate leader Obama lackey would move the budget, after three years of waiting, perhaps we would be doing something else than getting your ass out of office five months earlier than your prime supporter.

No entirely correct. It was his staffer who directed him to the answer page that he read from to espouse that answer. I can hardly wait until someone catches this creep flat footed and he makes a huge error. Arrogance will dictate this will happen, the question is when.

Like all of these VIPs, you go to their website to find a phone number AND THEY WON’T GIVE YOU A PHONE NUMBER.

And the web form that REJECTS email from zipcodes out of their district.

Sometimes I wonder why I even try.

Good catch, I like what you're getting at!

Also in that sentence, Holder said; "there is so much wrong" and "turns people off". Turn his words against him.

That’s why the ZIP Code Directory is your friend. I use my name and street address and then pick a town and ZIP Code in the guy’s district. Works every time! Even get replies. Best one yet, I told a Texas Congressman that I lived in Swollen Groin, TX! (Jackie Gleason is probably rolling in his grave!)

The issue now has become whether the congress has oversight authority over the administration.

If the congress does not do it's job and impeach Holder, then they should resign.

It is now too late to "negotiate" with Holder on what he will allow them to see. Congress either has the authority to the information on a timely basis or it does not. which is it?

“I see that Holder had his talking point all ready to go, turning the blame on the republicans.”

Yes he did didn’t he. That’s exactly what I noticed in the article as well. Holder didn’t skip a beat. He started right in with a well practiced response knowing the inevitable that he faced.

Good for Cornyn. Let’s hope more step up, and get in Holder’s face as well.

Find the address and zip of their district office.
Then use mapquest.com to pull up a street map and invent an address on a nearby street.

Keep a file copy for future reference.

Nancy give me the same non-responsive answers she gives her SF buddies, and I live in Colorado.

That hit him square in the nads!!!

The attorney general is nominated by the President of the United States and takes office after confirmation by the United States Senate. He or she serves at the pleasure of the president and can be removed by the president at any time; the attorney general is also subject to impeachment by the House of Representatives and trial in the Senate for “treason, bribery, and other high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Based on Cornyn’s history I would suspect that the major reason he is finally becoming involved is because he is up for re-election in 2014. He is a RINO to the core and, in addition to Dewhurst who is running for the Senate this year, just one of many politicians responsible for our having a wide open border between Texas and Mexico.

We have many good strong conservatives in Texas. Hopefully you will have someone other than Cornyn for whom to vote.

We will be happy to have you. Texas politics is interesting to say the least and is a little different than other states in many respects. But we do have our share of RINO’s. Fortunately Kay Bailey is retiring and we hopefully can replace her with a true Conservative providing Cruz wins the run-off. Guess we shall see...

Now that is a thought. Because of inter-agency coordination the list of "leadership" involved is very long. It goes all the way to 1600 Penn Ave. This had to be authorized by Obozo himself. That is the "source".
