As Catholic bishops in Ontario scramble to figure out how to square McGuinty’s new law mandating Gay-Straight Alliances with Catholic teaching on sexual morality, homosexual activist groups say that they are prepared to challenge Catholic doctrine in court come September.
Ontario Gay-Straight Alliances Coalition lawyer Doug Elliott told the homsoexual news service Xtra! that if Catholics “driven by the position of the Vatican” think they have found a loophole in the legislation, then they will be hauled before the courts.
“If the schools try to play games with kids …. the law is clear. We won’t put up with any of that crap come September,” Elliott said. “If you’re not complying with the law, then we’re going to take you to court. It’s that simple.”
Tonya Callaghan, a lesbian researcher and former Catholic teacher whose work, “Holy Homophobia: Doctrinal Disciplining of Non-heterosexuals in Canadian Catholic Schools,” is about to be published, says that Catholic schools are “hotbeds of homophobia”.
“The reason is because of Catholic doctrine that directs all the policy and practice in those schools regarding sexual minority groups,” she told Xtra!.
Callaghan said that Catholic doctrine on homosexuality “flies in the face of the laws of the land and Canadian equality rights.” She called the Catholic document titled Pastoral Guidelines to Assist Students of Same-Sex Attraction “dangerous” because “the doctrine [within it] is like bullying to queer youth.”

Today, those practicing homosexual behavior are emboldened to stridently challenge the Catholic church in court - and anyone else who dares oppose their agenda to get at our children. I don’t know Canadian law but I have a hunch the Sodomites will win their case. The sad part is that it only took about 40 years to get here.
How does this comport with muslims up there? Canada has a fairly large muslim presence as a proportion of the population as a whole. Has this mandate met with pushback from them, or has the government given them a pass?
I can hardly wait to see them clash with the muslims.
Catholics and other Christians need to disobey this law and challenge it in court. If they fail in court, then they need to simply continue to disbobey this law. They have the example of Peter (Acts 4:29) and the prophets before him, and countless of people since him, who stood for the law of God when secular law sought to trump it.
From the point of view of the liberty of individuals and institutions, this law strikes at the very root of a foundational freedom. No government, no matter how hard it may try, has the right to dictate what a person or a religious body may or may not think or believe or teach. (No government, that is, outside of North Korea, Saudi Arabia, etc.) If Canadians and Americans and any other free people care to continue to be free, they had better fight this kind of law with all their might.
Complain about being a persecuted minority.
If they had their way all the kids would be recruited and they would become a majority OVERNIGHT.
Then they would have to use turkey basters to take from the hims to inseminate the hers and brainwash more home grown recruits for the next wave of young meat.
Make that Acts 5:29.
