A jury in Gwinnett County, Ga., has awarded $3 million to the widow of an Atlanta police officer who died while having three-way sex, finding that his doctor was negligent in not properly diagnosing and treating his heart condition.

Jerk got what was coming to him. Why should the doctor be resposible? Should the doctor specifically say “Don’t engage in a three way?” Shove him in a hole in the ground and fill it in.
Left behind his wife and two sons, ages 7 and 9. What a scumbag.
Let me be the first. It’s the bush’s fault.
Was she part of the gleesome threesome?
Crazy world out there.
There are people who should not be allowed to be jurors....apparently there are a lot of them in Gwinnett County
>>Was she part of the gleesome threesome?
“According to court documents cited by the television station, William Martinez and a friend were having three-way sex with a woman who was not his wife at a hotel near Atlantas airport”
The jury found the doctor 60% to blame and Martinez, the cop, 40% to blame, from what I can determine. That likely doesn’t satisfy the doctor.
It doesn't sound like the wife was involved, possibly two guys and a girl, though.
Let me be the first to say that I miss the bush.
Honestly, is there no sense of shame anywhere anymore? If my husband died in such a disgraceful situation, I would die of embarrassment. I would certainly not want to show my face in court for the whole world to see. Disgusting.
I don’t know if I’m more disgusted by this perv of a cop or the nitwit jury that awarded him $3 million. Personal responsibility seems to be a scarce commodity.
We'll see this disgrace on a "1000 Ways to Die". Just wait.
Apparently the dead guy didn’t miss it.
Maybe the widow’s attorney channeled John Edwards.
Well... you know... there are much worse ways to go.
And talk about ‘residuals’.
Well...Isn't that a coincidence?
"Scumbag needed by adventurous couple wishing to expand to new activities, including a threesome. Apply at the gate.
The CARDIOLOGIST hung out a single advertising that he was competent and suckered this guy into believing such BS. The insurance co. was also incompetent, since they failed to institute an adequate quality program, with effective auditing, so this kind of nonexistent concern and professionalism expended to patient health was/is thwarted before the damage occurs.
I am a heart patient, even had surgery, yet my doctors have never told me to avoid a 3 way.
I’ll hazard a guess. This case was more about plundering a rich, evil insurance company out of sympathy for the victim (the widow) and her children.
Everyone knows insurance companies are literally swimming in cash. They can afford to be generous...
(That last part was sarcasm)
If the doctor was going to shoulder that much blame, then wouldn't the decent thing have been to invite him to join in?
3 million dollars goes a long way to overcome some humiliation...have a sense of shame if you desire, but take the money.
I would love to see pictures of the parties involved AND the Judge and Jurors.
Stories like this make me wonder if our current nation is worth saving.
Did you ask specifically about it?
Personally, I’m planning a swim from New orleans to Rio de Janeiro; I do hope that, if I grow fatigued and drown, my heirs will be able to claim it was my doctor’s fault.
Now, why on Earth are doctors retiring from private practice?
Could it be because their malpractice insurance premiums are going through the roof and the morons pushing ObamaCare are trying to set limits on doctors’ fees?
In a generation, we’ve gone from the best medical care in the world to a medical mess.
Give us another few years, and we’ll all be going to Canada when we become ill.
Whatever the government touches turns to sh*t.
He had scheduled a stress test — but the guy died the day before the appointment.
They should have said that if you need Viagra you probably shouldn't be taking it.
$3 million can ease alot of embarrassment. LOL!
Wonder if the other guy was a cop too, and what they had on that girl.
I live in Gwinnett County. It wasn’t me. Will see if this news makes the hard copy newspaper.
Oh yeah, I remember my last 3 way.
After disrobing and getting warmed up and just prior to getting to the good part, I quickly called my Dr and he advised me against it.
So I left.
I don’t think s/s/s/s/ is necessary here...<:
Does Laz live down near Atlanta? ... Laz, you really should open up a consulting firm. This guy needed help ... hit hit it in duplicate and died for the foolishness.

Hmmmm, maybe the wife can also claim that it was an “undercover sting” operation and get a lifetime settlement from Workers’ Compensation too.
“Yes, Your Honor, my husband was working vice that night and investigating hookers at that motel. He was on the job!!
It’s the 4-ways that’ll really get ya!
Methinks an appeal will render it a no go.
Is it any wonder that malpractice insurance is so expensive and that doctors are leaving the business? These juries are insane.
“Crazy world out there’’<< Getting crazier all the time. But the job situation just might be picikng up. Seen on the window of an adult book store near my house:”Help Wanted. All positions available’’ No joke.
We already know the cop was a total a$$hole. He disregarded the conventions of society in having a 3way with some woman he wasn’t even married to. he showed that he wasn’t going to follow societal stictures “I’m a cop, I can do anything I want.” I think we can also assume that he would have disregarded any medical advice regarding strenuous activity in this regard also. It was the ahole’s responsibility. You don’t go to the doctor and leave with the guarantee that you will never die. People die. This award is a travesty and I hope it’s overturned on appeal.
...have a sense of shame if you desire, but take the money.
No, I don’t think so. It is not as if this was a wrongful death caused by someone else’s negligence; the deceased died a disgraceful death while willingly engaged in despicable behavior.
$3 million can ease alot of embarrassment. LOL!
Not in my world....
"I think we can also assume that he would have disregarded any medical advice regarding strenuous activity in this regard...
The jury believes there was no evidence the cardiologist gave such advice. That's all that matters.
"You dont go to the doctor and leave with the guarantee that you will never die."
Folks go to the doc to obtain competent medical services. That includes competent scientific evaluation and precautionary advice. The doc in this case was sued and found at fault, because he provided evidence that he was incompetent, negligent and that resulted in harm to the patient and the patient's family.
It's business. When you're engaged in business, you're responsible for your failings. Everything else is irrelevant.
"This award is a travesty...
Post of the day, Thanks
