South Carolina Republican Sen. Jim DeMint doubled down on his call for Attorney General Eric Holders resignation over Operation Fast and Furious on Thursday, saying he thinks its long past time for Holder to leave office.
I just think when our justice system is in question, everything is in question, DeMint said in an interview on Washington, D.C. radio station WMAL.
I came out a few months ago asking for Holders resignation, DeMint said, because as this whole picture comes together, if we connect all the dots of the things hes doing and not doing hes not defending some of the laws that we have in place such as the Defense of Marriage [Act], hes suing states that are trying to fix their voter systems so that theres less fraud, or states that are trying to defend themselves against waves of illegals coming into their states.
DeMint went on to lay out just how deadly Fast and Furious really was, and how he thinks Holder hasnt been forthright with Congress.
And in this Fast and Furious thing, we talk about the one border guard, [Brian Terry,] who was killed with these guns, but its likely hundreds of Mexicans have been killed in the drug wars using these guns, DeMint said. He has just been less than forthcoming lets put it that way on the things that have been asked for.
When asked how he thinks this plays out from here, DeMint said he thinks the House will vote to hold Holder in contempt of Congress, but thats not necessarily going to force him to resign.
But, the solution to a lot of these problems is in November when we elect, hopefully, a President Romney and a new majority in the Senate that will turn this country away from the fiscal cliff and get us back in the right direction as far as jobs and the economy, DeMint added.
DeMint is one five U.S. senators who have demanded Holders resignation over the Fast and Furious scandal. Sens. Orrin Hatch of Utah, John Cornyn of Texas, James Inhofe of Oklahoma and Johnny Isakson of Georgia have also called for Holder to resign. Two sitting governors, 129 House members and presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney join them in pushing for Holders ouster.
The justice system is run by government, who now sees American tax payers as a threat, a burden, heavy luggage, users of resources, and those who dare question the courts and the government ruling class.
I like Jim Demint a lot, but he is a little late on this one.
Hey Jim, Waco was about 20 years ago.
Better late than never I guess is the one positive to see in this.
I keep praying for our congress critters to have the courage to do what is right. So many though ended up with skeletons in their closets on their way to power that they buckle under the least amount of pressure. Patriots are few and far between. If a few stand in the gap though, perhaps the rest will line up (hide) behind them.
Exactly. Pressure is always applied very selectively. The MSM always moves the one pressured to the left, or out, never toward the Constitution.
That’s how the Senate works. After it’s become completely obvious that our republic has taken a sharp turn toward totalitarianism, then the solons of the Senate are supposed to step in and set things straight. Pray this happens Jan. 2013 or sooner.
They are careful too about applying the pressure...just enough to make them see the light...not enough to make them resign...then they would have to start over with some poor new sucker.
He was the right candidate for this past year. It was a shame he has no tolerance for a run.
Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.

When will members of Congress ask What did the president know, and when did he know it?

Hey Jim, Waco was about 20 years ago.)
You hit the nail where it counts, some of the same players are sitting on the Hill! The current ATF crop are afraid of the same threats: “You talk, we will see that you lose your pensions and your reputation!!!!!”
I watched my representative, (sonny bono) sit, crying, and slobbering at the Congressional hearing, and doing NOTHING for the little kids and women that were burned to death like a hive of ants!
The Davidians were used to make a point, a warning, to all gun owners that the ATF was all powerful!!!!
