Up to 200 police officers are expected to be taken off the crime-ridden streets of Chicago to provide security at the wedding of a senior White House adviser as President Barack Obama flies in to attend.
The First Family will jet into Chicago this evening as Valerie Jarretts daughter Laura Jarrett, a former Harvard Law student, prepares to wed fellow graduate Tony Balkissoon on Saturday. The wedding will take place in the backyard of the Jarrett family home in Kenwood, with some gatherings planned at the nearby Obama mansion.
Between 100 to 200 police officers will be drafted in to secure the perimeter of the Jarrett property, which is about a block and a half north of the President's home, Chicago Sun-Times columnist Michael Sneed reported.
Sneed reported that the city will not be reimbursed by the federal government for the extra security measures.

Sounds like somebody ordered the steak dinner and is sticking the taxpayers in Chicago for the tab.
it’s good to be the king’s puppetmaster.
This ain’t right!
It Has To Be All About Barack Obama! And of course this will be Rahm-rodded down the throats of Chicago tax payers.
You’d think that Balkissoon (?!?) and Jarrett would have had the decency to say NO to this farce. Go up to Washington and do the honors, or else leave Barack Obama off the guest list. (Send Jay Carney or someone like that.)
The fact that she and her demon offspring need that much protection says volumes to me.

Can we JDAM Harvard and Yale NOW?
“Sounds like somebody ordered the steak dinner and is sticking the taxpayers in Chicago for the tab.”
They deserve it. They gave us Obozo.
This probably will be cloaked in some larger “official business” visit to Chicago, but still. The wedding and party will occupy the special police force for much longer than it otherwise would take.
This is going to go down about as well as when Marie Antoinette reportedly told the masses to “eat cake.” Maybe finally Chicago will start to care about the grease machine upon which Rahm slithered in.
Someone should compare the shooting/killing stats from recent weekends with the numbers from the upcoming weekend, to see whether the absence of police from the streets made any difference.
...”a former Harvard Law student”.... what a drop out or a flunk out.... please explain
Well, the little people will just have to murder one another while the cops surround the neighborhood and keep the rifraff away from the elites.
Will all the police officers be wearing hoodies?
With that many criminals in one location, the cops should turn it into a sting operation.
“Plainclothes,” to fit in the with the guests ...
things may be turning. A strong supporter of Rahm, a billionaire from Chicago, is turning away from obama and to Romney- Ken griffin
I noticed that, too, but Wikipedia (I just looked it up) says she graduated in 2010. Just standard crappy, misleading writing from the gerbilist.
I can’t understand how poor blacks can vote for this guy. He and all of his friends are elitists.
Unofficial meeting with Bill Ayers?
I'm not sure he was ever an Obama supporter.
He supported Ryan in '08 for IL Senate.
And the puerto rican festival is this weekend along with 90 degree weather - I’m sure it will be a 5 star weekend here.
Wouldn’t want to work a trauma center in that town this weekend!
I’ll have to check the secondcitycop website to see what really goes on. 90 degree heat forecasted, and things have been wild the past few weeks. That site is the only place where things get reported. The regular media is too busy swooning over O and First Lady Ru Paul.....
It would be neat if you did that, and reported the numbers back to this thread on Sunday evening.
I just copied and pasted and I’m not in charge of Laurie this week, so sorry—can’t help you.
I’m sure she has a fine sinecure set aside for her due to her mother’s connections—something high paying that requires little actual work or results in nothing productive, so I wouldn’t fret about her if I were you.
The rest of us—fair today, tomorrow partly cloudy. Next week, who knows?
So all I’m saying is that we should carpet-bomb the Ivy League while we still can.
