You’re missing the point. The day belongs to Obama and the democrats. This is about the statist dictator and mob rule. Will congress stand up and confront him or ket it go? I don’t have a desire to be Romney’s cheering section but he has been on offense and totally focused on the economy, jobs, taxes, Obama’s all out failure and division of the country. Doesn’t sound like he’s playing prevent defense to me. Why would he allow Obama to take him off message now? Have you seen the Rasmussen numbers this week? There is a long way to go and he is not only taking on Obama and the Leftist Democrats, but also the entire leftist media. Right now the media is scrambling to cover Obama’s sorry butt and they aren’t doing a good job of it.

Obama is in panic mode with this move and it is already backfiring. I will agree with you that Romney is not a great candidate but he is playing offense in this race.

You cannot paint a rosy picture of this... romney looked like a deer caught in headlights today... he allowed his weakness to be seen... the weakness of a lack of true Conservative core philosophy... and a true leader NEVER allows any weakness to be seen... not during an election. The time for romney to respond has come and gone. Anything that he says from this point on will be nothing but damage control. Many who despise romney but were warming to his attacks on obama during the past two weeks, have just had all of their fears and reservations concerning romney reinforced... and romney cannot reverse that... he hurt himself badly with the base today and the following weeks will prove it. Do not be surprised to see obamao go above 50% in the polls next week and romney to fall into the low 40’s or high 30’s. This was all so predictable... and it will get much worse as the election nears.

Off message? His 'message' is supposed to reflect his accord with a majority of the American people, our traditions, laws, and Constitution.

It's also supposed to be responsive to unfolding events. People need to see leadership, and there's no better way to do that when challenging an incumbent president, than a crack-fire, correct response to his missteps and blunders.

Romney was crack-fire, alright, but with precisely the WRONG response.
