Are We in Revolutionary Times? ... Victor Davis Hanson
NRO The Corner ^ | 16 June 2012 | Victor Davis Hanson

Legally, President Obama has reiterated the principle that he can pick and choose which U.S. laws he wishes to enforce (see his decision to reverse the order of the Chrysler creditors, his decision not to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act, and his administration’s contempt for national-security confidentiality and Senate and House subpoenas to the attorney general). If one individual can decide to exempt nearly a million residents from the law — when he most certainly could not get the law amended or repealed through proper legislative or judicial action — then what can he not do? Obama is turning out to be the most subversive chief executive in terms of eroding U.S. law since Richard Nixon.

There is a price to pay for this:

Will it work politically? Obama must assume lots of things: that all Hispanics vote as a block in favoring exempting more illegal aliens from the law, and are without worry that the high unemployment rate hits their community among the hardest; that black voters, stung by his gay-marriage stance, will not resent what may be seen as de facto amnesty, possibly endangering his tiny (and slipping) lead in places like Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. And because polls show overwhelming resistance to non-enforcement of immigration law, Obama also figures that the minority who supports his recent action does so far more vehemently than the majority who opposes it. Time will tell; but my gut feeling is that his brazen act will enrage far more than it will delight — and for a variety of different reasons. As with all his special-interest efforts — the Keystone cancellation, war-on-women ploy, gay-marriage turnabout, and now de facto amnesty — Obama believes dividing Americans along class, ethnic, gender, and cultural lines will result in a cobbled together majority, far more preferable than a 1996 Clinton-like effort to win over the independents by forging a bipartisan consensus.

If Obama loses, what will he do in between Nov 2012 and Jan 2013? He’s already demonstrated that the other branches of government do not matter and that he doesn’t care about US citizens. He’ll just implement whatever policies he wants with no thought to the consequences. It’ll be a bumpy ride.

Obama is not the problem, the people we elected to STOP him are not doing their jobs. What matters if you have laws when you don’t enforce them? What matters a Constitution ?

Nixon was a staunch anti-communist.

The reporter Munro acted in a revolutionary manner, his timed question was more effective than most realize, it caused a reaction.

Its no wonder the left and the likes in the MSM elitist society are all in an uproar, it created a situation.

We need many more people asking questions, even at the risk of doing so at key events, whatever it takes to take the wind out of the sails of the Obama pirating ships.

Read “Screwed” by Dick Morris and you will know what is in the mind of a communist, errr, progressive in a lame duck session.

Like the fall of the Roman Republic, Boehner and the RINOs are too afraid to challenge the Neo Dictator. We must look to history or relive it! I am afraid it is too late to save the republic. Too many years of compassionate conservatism and reaching across the aisle has done in the greatest nation the world has ever seen. The American experiment is a failure, and has shown that man can not govern himself - he slips into serfdom through years of neglect and the temptation of cradle-to-grave entitlements Robin Hood has won the day (steal from the rich through high taxation). It is now too late to put the entitlement socialist Jeannie back in the bottle. We must face a new revolution to save the Constitution for those who can not live under the Tyranny that will follow an Obama second (and unlimited) term. Ultimately, secession will be the only way out for a fragment of society - those willing to stand for freedom and liberty.

Lush vacations, Kobe beef, unlimited golf, and $20 million in POTUS pardons.

We should impeach and indict Eric Holder and list Obama as an unnamed co-conspirator for starters.

This should slow down the implementation of any new edicts long enough to impeach Obama for contempt of Congress.

Now, if we just knew where to find a Speaker of the House with huevos...

Aw, forget it!

If obama loses, think scorched earth.
He has no emotional attachment to this country or it’s people.
He has no loyalty to anything or anyone except himself.
He is a thin skinned whiney baby with all the powers of the presidency and then some.
Not to mention what his peeps will do.

If our differences were more geographically represented, we would have already entered into a shooting war, or more likely the Leftistis would have chosen to leave the rest of us alone and focus on turning their locals into hell hole utopias.

Could you ever imagine the man calling himself Obama relinquishing the office of the presidency with as much grace as Nixon? I could foresee that the US Federal Marshalls would have to drag him kicking and screaming from the White House.

A military coup and restoration of the constitution would be one fix.

Are we? Maybe more like civil war. Perhaps. Things are happening.

". . . some key [events] exacerbated the national debate, fraying trust, and national cohesion just a little more each time . . . The two-party system that had governed America . . . begin to fall apart . . . interest in politics took the place of all other forms of news-related entertainment . . . politicians were the celebrities . . . [Politics/ideology] was becoming such a habit, the reactions so automatic, that [journalists] taking sides on every news story became inevitable."

.. no wait! My mistake I just remembered that this is from for Love & Liberty by Robin Young and it's about 1857 America at the start of the administration of James Buchanan. My mistake.

The polls next week will show a big increase in O’Bozo’s popularity among Hispanics.

You can bet your last peso on it.
