A Texas father has not been arrested and is unlikely to face charges after he beat a man to death for trying to molest his 4-year-old daughter at their rural ranch, authorities said Monday.
Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon said... the victim was a 47-year-old man from Gonazles with no apparent prior criminal history.... an "acquaintance" of the father who had come to help care for some horses...
The father called police late Saturday afternoon and told them he attacked a man caught trying to sexually assault his daughter, Harmon said. The alleged attack happened near a barn where some horses were being kept.

About 25 years ago, I heard a man testifying at his own murder trial in Texas. They asked him, "Why did you kill him?" The answer was short and to the crux of the issue, "He needed killin." At the end of the day, that is the only justifiable case for homicide.
This sick bastard attacked a little girl. He most definitely needed killin.
As I’ve said before regarding this story, I’m very happy that there is no arrest in this case. It would be a travesty of justice to arrest this man.
I really wish I could have “caught” the man touching my daughter instead of it having to be reported and letting the courts decide the sentence. All he got was 3 months and 5,000 fine. He hasn’t completed his mandatory classes and instead of throwing the book at him, they just give him more time to finish. It’s better if you can take care of it yourself, the children aren’t the main concern anymore...the criminal is!

Lavaca County authorities on Friday identified the 47-year-old man who was caught molesting a girl and then beaten to death by the child’s father.
Jesus Mora Flores was killed on the afternoon of June 9 on a rural farm pasture on County Road 302 between Shiner and Yoakum.
In a press release issued Friday, authorities said Flores was attempting to sexually assault the girl, whose age was corrected by officials Friday to be 5 years old.
“When emergency medical personnel arrived, Jesus Mora Flores’ pants and underwear were down and the man’s genitals were exposed,” said Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon, who was quoted in a press released issued by District Attorney Heather McMinn.
Flores had been hired by the child’s father to care for horses on the property, according to a neighbor.
A public records search shows no permanent address for Flores in Lavaca County.
The press release also confirms that law enforcement officials discovered a witness to the attacks, but does not identify that person.
Investigators found that “a witness observed Jesus Mora Flores forcibly carrying a 5-year-old child off to a secluded area, the witness ran for help and alerted the child’s father.”
The father then heard the child’s scream and ran to help her, the release said. The father then “immediately removed Jesus Mora Flores from on top of his child” and inflicted “several blows” to the man’s head and neck area.
The release stated that all of the physical evidence and witness statements in the case corroborated the father’s statement.
Harmon said Flores was not in the United States illegally and possessed a permanent resident card - more widely known as a green card.
The sheriff said his office has been working with Mexican Consulate officials to locate Flores’ family.
Complete results of the autopsy conducted in Travis County are not expected for several weeks.
Harmon said the girl’s family and father have cooperated with authorities.
McMinn said in the press release that Harmon “made the right decision in not arresting the father at the time of the incident.”
The girl’s father remains remorseful about Flores’ death, said Harmon, who said he expects a grand jury to hear the case next week.
“This case has been very traumatizing on the child, her father and his entire family,” he said.

The father stopped the alleged abuser, then pounded him repeatedly in the head....
Authorities have identified the man killed as Jesus Mora Flores. He was an acquaintance of the family, known for his horse-grooming abilities, Harmon said.

The Texas Rangers investigated, no charges were brought. Case closed. And I have the utmost confidence in the judgement of the Rangers.

I was reading the story in the Victoria, Tx (Where the child was taken to the hospital) paper and several of the comments said he was an illegal alien.
The father did what he had to do, end of story.
Does the perpetrator resemble Obama’s son, if he had one?
The victim was the guy’s little girl.
The guy admitting he isn’t fit to live was the perpetrator.
Think it might be a false green card? Probably not his true name.

Back when I was a kid, we didn’t have to worry much about perverts sexually assaulting us, or even trying. Most of us had daddies who were combat veterans fresh off the battlefields of WWII, were toughened and armed, which really wasn’t necessary since they could kill with their bare hands. Any likely attackers were honestly afraid of the daddies; and there were fewer lowlifes like that then, as well as fewer avenues of visual perversion - illegals were non-existent.
I was glad to see this made national news. Makes me proud to live in Texas.

It feels more unjust to my daughter...not to mention, she is currently writing a letter to the parole board for the monster who raped me back in 1990. Every 3 years, he comes up eligible to have a parole hearing. She doesn’t have much faith in the legal system because of all this. I’m glad this daddy spared his daughter that pain!
I'm from the same era. Yet, there were two dangerous people in our lovely middle-class suburb. One was a hermit who lived in the woods; the other was an adopted teenage girl who may have herself been a victim. Word got out fast to avoid going near either one.

It is sad, however, but most of these types of crimes occur by someone familiar, a friend, family member, coach, etc. Most people never see it coming. It has been going on forever. Most children just never told anyone before. They were ashamed to embaress the family, etc. or just scared to say anything. But, parents are educating their children on this subject more and kids are finally talking. I'm glad that Law Enforcement, the legal & judicial system is waking up.
I have to disagree with you. I believe this was going on back then too. Chidren hid it more back then. Also, children were not educated on this subject. Actually, the subject was not discussed. Things were more ‘secret’. Perverts were better at getting away with it back then and they certainly do not have to be illegal immigrants. They were prestigious attorneys, pastors, next door neighbor who everyone loved, etc. It stings even worse when they are illegal immigrants, because they shouldn’t be here to begin with.

In one of the other threads about this case, I read that the grandfather speaks haltingly in English. So it is possible that the father and little girl are also Hispanics. That part doesn't really matter to me. What matters is that this country treats child rape the same as shoplifting. It should be a capital offense at any age if there is force or terror; and absolutely no exceptions for a child below the age of majority.

Interesting thing to note, in reference to the Trayvon case: this father didn’t mean to kill the guy. He just beat him with his hands, and the guy died. No gun involved.
Even if a person doesn’t MEAN to kill you, if they start beating your head you are in danger for your life.
The eyewitness testimony that Trayvon was banging Zimmerman’s head on the concrete, coupled with the injuries to Zimmerman’s head, are all the evidence necessary to decide that Zimmerman is innocent. Doesn’t matter who started it; at that point Zimmerman’s life was in danger and lethal force was justifiable.
Seems like an update to the original story.
There should NOT be any charges against this father.
