Oklahoma City named most manly city

Oklahoma City, OK, United States (4E) – Oklahoma City has been dubbed “America’s Manliest City” in the fourth annual Combo’s “America’s Manliest Cities” list.

Conducted by New Jersey-based Mars Chocolate, in conjunction with research expert Bert Sperling, the list ranks the 50 largest U.S. metropolitan areas using a scale that takes into account the number of home improvement stores, steak houses and “manly” occupations per capita.

Cities stood to lose points if they had too many “girly” or feminine factors, such as a high number of nail salons or high-end retail boutiques.

Topping the list as America’s Manliest City is Oklahoma City. Columbia, S.C. was ranked second and Memphis landed at No.3.

Nashville, Tenn., ranked first last year, dropped to fourth. Rounding out the top five was Birmingham. Ala.

Ranked No. 50, making it the least manly state in the study, was San Diego.

>> 100 women get their nails done.

It isn’t the number of women in the nail salon that deducts manliness points. It is the number of men getting their nails done in salons that deducts points.

“Whatever city Mountn Man is in at the time is the manliest city.”

San Fran in Castro ? Bezerklee? Ithaca (The city of Evil?)

Now that I think about it, You’d be overkill. One only need add a young boy to up their manliness quotient...but no one in their right mind would put a young boy there without an armed guard, 2 pit bulls and a rack of Anti-Pedobear weaponry ;)

My apologies. I thought you were responding to my comment about Oklahoma City, but it was about Allan and its bicycle riders....my bad.

I was quipping about how manly these bicyclists seem in their garb in juxtaposition to how I have seen most Oklahoma City men in the past.

Sorry...that was supposed to be Allana...short for Atlanta....I’m born and bred here...you often hear newcomer ATLANTANs say “Allana”...I guess that’s an inside ‘tell’ for us real Atlanta/Georgia denizens....

The bicyclist, helmet, and fancy pants thing is a sore point for some of us in the mountains, and even it the metro area. They go out on them in multiples and present a driving hazard in my opinion....but there are two sides to the argument I guess that I’ll leave for another day....

again, sorry

LOL. I think so,but I don’t get down there very much.

I only go when there’s a Lightning game or when then the team has a fan fest going on. I have autographs out the wazoo and over 40 pucks,14 of which are signed.

I love the Lightning. I’m going into withdrawals now that hockey season is over.

The Tampa Bay Times Forum isn’t in the best part of town and I’ll haul ass to my car.

Tampa isn’t totally bad, though. It’s not like Detroit. (Thank goodness)

Yes. This would be why San Diego is womanly. San Diego women like to beautiful, and that means nails, skin care, etc. Believe me, growing up as a girl in San Diego, it was really hard to keep up with all the slim, tanned, manicured girls, when I was fair-skinned, struggling with weight, and short-nailed.

I should have been from Portland. I would have looked great.

LOL @ San Francisco ranking 49th. That city should be OFF the map when it comes to manliness.
