Ashland buried treasure stolen?
Mail Tribune ^ | June 17, 2012 | Mandy Valencia

Posted on 06/17/2012 8:48:00 PM PDT by bkopto

An Ashland woman says she buried a safe containing $262,000 in gold Krugerrands in her backyard two years ago. But when she went to dig it up earlier this year, it was gone.

On March 15, the woman reported to police that the safe was missing, but since then police have exhausted all leads and the case is dormant, said Ashland police Sgt. Jim Alderman. Police will not release the victim's name, because of the high dollar amount involved.

The case was complicated by the woman's refusal to let anyone conduct an extensive search of her property.

"She refuses to have her backyard excavated or allow anyone to search with a metal detector," said Alderman.

The woman told police she began buying gold in 2006. She said when she returned to dig up the safe, she found other containers of money and precious metals that she had buried, but not the safe.

According to investigators, there was no evidence of fresh digging on the property. They theorize that if the safe were stolen it could have happened shortly after it was buried in 2010. The woman was able to provide police with receipts for the gold, proving that it was at one time in her possession.

Tracking the coins is difficult because there are no serial numbers, said Alderman. There also are several local places where thieves could cash in precious metals without tipping off police.

Gold dealers are required to file a federal tax form only if someone turns in 25 or more Krugerrands or Canadian maple leaf coins at a time, according to Michael Cotta, owner of Rogue Valley Coin and Jewelry.

Maybe she just wanted to put in a vegetable garden and didn’t want to do all the hard digging herself.

So she stakes out an area say two meters by five meters and says, “It was somewhere in that area...”

I kept a collection of very valuable ice cubes under my bed, in a foot locker .

I swear my brother took them and for some weird reason he replaced them with water.

I know he sold my ice cubes for candy money. He even let on a hint when he came home with a bunch of Abba Zabba .....

Jesus was a Capitalist before there was a name for them. He was not a socialist, and it erks me to no end when people claim that it is “Christian” to be “fair.” He said to give the money to the guy who had THE MOST, the one who had taken the most risk.

Update!

The suspect is described as a White male with long unkept hair, a full beard wearing brightly colored clothing sporting a tricorner hat and appeared to have a artificial leg.

she violated the first rule of buried treasure; she didn’t kill the people who did the hole digging.
He's in one of the holes. That's why she doesn't want the authorities digging in her yard.

You guys here seem to have some pretty good knowledge on the working of the gold market and some of the rules. Do any of you know anything about silver bars made by Englhard? I am trying to trace some that were stolen from an estate and by now probably cashed in in either colorado or north Carolina. I tried englhard but BASF bought them out i was told there are no records available. The bars all have their own serial number so they can be traced.

Damn! I just had the same thing happen to me. Instead of losing $262,000 in gold Krugerrands I lost $263,000.

I had mine hidden in the trash can out on the street. A place where no one would look for them. However, some time during the week someone stole them. I heard the trash truck drive off.

I’m gonna guess this lady has one of 2 problems:

1. She forgot where she buried it.

2. She told someone where she buried it.

A metal detector will solve the first problem, but nothing can help a big mouth.

Since Ashland is a sanctuary city controlled by left wingers, Juan Jose Haysus Diego, the hole digger, probably stole the Krugs and went to Eureka, Ca and set up a dope farm in a rental home.

After he cashed out there, he went to Mendocino County and planted dope on a big scale on federal and state land.

After he cashed out there, he went to a national forest in S California to raise more dope on an even bigger scale. He was an EOE employer of many non citizens during that time.

After that he retired to Baja and funds an export business exporting illegal Mexicans like himself to America.

He loves America Capitalism for illegals and getting welfare, free rent, food stamps and other benies including tax refunds inspite of no declared income.

He has several children from several wives in America, who will be blessed with Obozo’s recent illegal action making them legal.
