Why is everyone speculating that Romney will choose Senator Rubio?

Please. I’m not too surprised a libertarian would write something like this, since that group generally holds absurd, self-defeating views in support of unending mass immigration.

If Romney were to do this, the leaders of these ethnic grievance groups (who are all far left) would condemn it as a cheap political move (even as they praise Obama’s cheap, unlawful political move). They would call it an empty gesture from a man who used ‘mean, divisive, harsh, anti-immigrant’ rhetoric to win the nomination. They would say it’s not enough from a man who pandered to right wing bigots to get the nomination, and who still hasn’t fully embraced a path to citizenship for all illegal aliens like Obama has.

And the media would back up all of these claims.

If Romney really wanted to be bold, he’d go in with a speech very likely to get him booed off the stage. He’d promote real conservative immigration reform, which would include no path to citizenship for illegals, and a reduction in legal immigration. In other words, he could try pushing a new type of comprehensive immigration reform, one that doesn’t guarantee demographic destruction for the conservative movement. It would cause his already low support from latinos to fall even more, but it might resonate with other voters.

Who knows? But the scenario this writer lays out is a pure fantasy.
