SANFORD, Fla. – For weeks, the death of Trayvon Martin, the investigations it launched and the civil rights rallies it spurred were the most important news stories in the country, according to pollsters.
At least six news organizations or polling companies did surveys. What they documented, in general, was that people were fascinated and outraged by the Feb. 26 death of the unarmed 17-year-old and angry at the shooter, Neighborhood Watch volunteer George Zimmerman.

The arrest of Mrs. Zimmerman may backfire on the prosecutor.I find it hard to believe that the prosecutor hasn’t known all along that she was going to lose the case. I suspect she has been offered some reward if she goes to court, anyway. Watch out for her making some huge, sudden career jump after Zimmerman will have been acquitted.

Yeah, we obviously need more of it. If some cop had stopped trayvon on the basis that a young, black, hooded male wandering around in the early hours is likely up to no good this entire incident could’ve been avoided.
Were it not for political correctness, Trayvon would have been safe and comfy in the back of a police car rather than getting shot for being dumb enough to bring a bag of skittles to a gun fight.
The only jumps prosecutors make after losing signature cases like this is into the toilet. Ask Marsha Clark & that Nifong guy.

It was bad enough arresting George’s wife and tossing Zimmerman back in jail. But when I read the FBI was out drumming up smears on Zimmerman through interviewing everyone who knows him, trying to find racial political incorrectness on the guy, that made me sick.
Corie going after a Havard lawyer for defending Zimmerman against the lies of the proesecution and media was as unAmerican as it gets. When this is over, she needs to lose her right to practice law and her cases involving self defense need to be revisited. The woman is a walking, talking disaster to justice.

Most of the correct information was filtered through the internet - not newspapers. Drudge was a factor - who happens to be white. As Kenny Irby is a factor - who happens to be black. And I wonder what the people who contributed to his 'defense fund' will think when they learn they paid off all of Geroge's bills, from his credit cards, to a loan from his mother, to Mrs. Z's nursing school tuition, etc. The only bills not paid were the water bill and car insurance ... because Mrs. Z could not do that online.

I did a “Job Walk” for a public housing repair/remodel project in the south side of Sacramento back in the mid 1990’s. We had a police escort at the site who told the group of bidding contractors that they suggested our employees be visably armed while on the job. They further stated that they rarely patroled that area.....too dangerous......racial profiling????? Nope....being realistic.......
I am hoping that the people will realize that George Zimmerman and his family have ongoing expenses associated with just living. And since he lost his job as a result of the media exposure and lies, his defense includes paying these bills, meeting bail, and the costs of living in hiding.
To me, this is exactly what these contributions were intended for.
I would far rather pay for his living expenses now, while he can't, than have the money go to a lawyer, who got into the case for its publicity value and who will be handsomely rewarded by his percentage of the damages for the libels inflicted on Mr. Zimmerman.
In fact, I would love to see a "George Zimmerman general expenses fund". I would support him by contributing more to this than to a defense fund.

The professional aggrievance industry needed a fund raiser for 2012. The PAI board met on March 1 and decided this would work.
It’s worked so well, they now use trash cans instead of collection baskets to fund raise.
Over and over again it has been stated here that the Z's didn't lie when they stated they had no money .... that the money donated was for 'legal defense' only, so they omitted mentioning it. I would consider the bailbondsman and the lawyers and the Circuit Court as 'legal' monies. I would not consider loan repayments to mom and tution fees 'legal' monies.

Everywhere on this forum posters have said over and over again that they understood by the request that the donations would go for two things: living expenses and legal expenses. Outstanding bills are a part of living expenses.
