The 2nd Amendment and the Preservation of Liberty

Why do Liberals and Progressives want you Disarmed?

Following the shooting of Treyvon Martin earlier this year, liberals and progressives renewed their calls for more restrictions on firearms and repeal of Florida’s stand your ground law. Some called for the out right ban of handguns. Once again their justification is so-called public safety because they claim the police are entrusted with duty of protecting you. As I wrote in “The Police are Under No Legal Obligation to Protect You”, this assertion is patently false because courts throughout these United States have consistently held that police have no legal duty to provide police protection to any individual citizen.

That being the case, then there must be some other reason why liberals and progressives want the American people disarmed. In my mind, the answer is a no brainier; they know the only way they can force their statist policies down the throats of the American people is through the power of government and their biggest fear is the people will eventually draw a line in the sand and resist.

Statists worship at the alter of government and believe individual liberty is subordinate to the power and dictates of the state. An armed populace scares the hell out of these people. That is why they constantly misrepresent and demonize the right to keep and bear arms.

The Founders believed the people are sovereign and have the right and duty to resist an oppressive government; even the one they were establishing through the Constitution.

Alexander Hamilton, in Federalist Essay No.28, asserted that the people have the right to take up arms when their elected representatives betray them:

"Never forget, even for an instant, that the one and only reason anybody has for taking your gun away is to make you weaker than he is, so he can do something to you that you wouldn’t let him do if you were equipped to prevent it. This goes for burglars, muggers, and rapists, and even more so for policemen, bureaucrats, and politicians."

A close friend of mine said it best, “The Second Amendment is the reset button to the Constitution.”

I don’t even want to imagine what a Blame Obusha could do if there were not a well armed public in the US of A.
I know for certain it is the only thing that stops him from completely crossing the line into a full blown Dictatorship.

Don’t just fear it, count on it.

In general, I do not believe that the American people want to engage in a bloody civil war, but as it with anything, there is a breaking point.

The conflict will be between "The Bills" and "The Paychecks". People that draw their income from government are "The Bills". People that work in the private sector and draw their income from profit of a business are "The Paychecks".

"The Paychecks" create all wealth. "The bills" consume wealth.

This word is starting to get out. There is no such thing as a "government job" or a "public sector job". These entities represent bills that must be paid by those in the private sector. A government job is only a "job" to the individual, Economically they are the equivalent of a huge light bill.

Thee very notion that the Police could protect you in most situations borders on the insane. You would have to have police stationed by every home, apartment or place of business, twenty-four hours a day, as well as constantly patrolling every street, park etc.. The notion tells one a lot about those who embrace it. They prefer delusion to reality.

The Right to Keep & Bear Arms is both a Liberty issue & a personal & family safety issue (See The Right To Keep & Bear Arms). Why, for example, does Switzerland have a lower crime rate than almost any other nation? Even as a free market provides the strongest path to prosperity; so well armed neighbors provide the safest residential community. The economy works because it makes people personally responsible. The well armed community works for precisely the same reason.

I would like to think there is a breaking point but when decades of commie union teachers have been given free access to our children’s minds, they don’t know about the Federalist Papers or the real meaning of the 2nd Amendment or that the direction of this country is 100% wrong.

Proof? No person, educated in the brilliance of the founding of this country could ever want the bigger intrusive government being promoted by progressives (aka Marxist communists). No one would ever question the meaning and reason for the 2nd Amendment. No one would accept Presidents for decades using executive orders to circumvent Congress thus making separation of powers null and void.

I don’t see anything the government could do which would get enough REAL Americans off the sofa and out into the streets. Too many sheep in the way protecting the ruling elite for a breaking point to be reached.

In all honesty, I'd rather they knew the anti-federalist papers.

Absolutely! This seems so obvious that it is amazing that so many don’t seem to understand it. I have said for years that when computing jobs created or lost a new government job should not be counted as one job created but multiple jobs lost. If in some strange instance the number of government workers is reduced by layoffs this should make the unemployment rate go down not up. Of course the left wingers think I am as nutty as Sarah Palin which makes me think I may be an unrecognized genius.
