Obama’s Revisionism He predicted a strong economy, but blames his failure on Bush.
National Review Online ^ | JUNE 18, 2012 | John Lott

Posted on 06/18/2012 7:56:16 AM PDT by richardb72

Americans’ patience is running thin. Unemployment has been above 8 percent for 40 months. Since the recovery started, over 7.2 million Americans have given up looking for work and left the labor force. It is during recessions, not recoveries, that people are supposed to give up looking for work.

But it is obviously all Bush’s fault. At least, that is President Obama’s new take. During his big economic address on Thursday, Obama repeatedly said that the economic problems we face today were “a decade in the making.”

But there is a problem with Obama’s logic. Over the last three-and-a-half years, the president and his administration have continually claimed that the stimulus was working and that a robust recovery was starting. If the legacy of the Bush administration policies was going to hinder the recovery so badly, why did Obama keep on predicting that things were going to get better soon? . . .

The words “Obama” and “logic” don’t belong in the same sentence, unless it would be to say that he offers none.

What Obama says is pretty much entirely predicable. The unknown is how many Americans still 1) believe him and/or 2) think its “cool” to vote for him regardless of what he says.

If Obama was wrong about the situation he inherited and if he has been stumbling along for three and a half years of failed initiatives (remember the summer of recovery, shovel ready projects, quantitative easing one and two, housing crisis, record unemployment), why should we believe he now can solve the problem?

So, President Stoner is admitting he is a less influential and powerful leader, as president, than George W is as an ex-president?

This is the sort of retro reasoning that people use to blame their parents. Example: if parents smoked you can blame them for your smoking because they were “bad role models”, oppositely, if parents did not smoke, you can say that you smoke because you were rebelling against their straight laced ways. Either way, your own faults are not your fault...but your successes...a different matter.

Had all the same things been done with successful results, would Bush be getting the credit for turning the economy around? Waiting to hear this question asked.

“O” dug himself a hole he can't get out of.

For 4 years he's been blaming Bush for the economy and for the failure of “O” administration policies,(such as they are).

The closer we get to the election, “O” will have to either boast about his achievements (none are apparent) or continue his desperate and increasingly preposterous tirades against Bush and the Conservatives. NEITHER is going to work!

Back a few years ago I said two thirds of Americans are brain dead when it is about their Country. Nothing much has changed because almost half of those two thirds never learned a thing about our communists empire with King Obama as wanna be dictator in charge.

This is why the left prefers fascism over socialism.

When their control regime fails, they can still blame the private owners of the business for the negative results.

The left: Bush, the gift that keeps on giving. It is getting old fellas. Surely the left can come up with something or somebody (besides their contemptable selves) to blame.

Once again he will try the “don’t give the keys to the guys who drove the car into the ditch”...... we all saw how that worked in 2010....

Marxism is a hole no one can climb out of without pain, suffering, violence and bloodshed. Obama's version of Marxism is no different and left unchecked will bring the very same predictable results. Ref: See, USSR, China,Cuba, Venezuela, N.Korea, all the eastern European states formerly under the thumb of the old USSR, etc. Marxist enclaves that brought or are bringing unimaginable suffering to their citizens.

Because he thought that was his only path to re-election.

Obama’s jobs program is :
1) more short term deficit stimulus spending to get through the election
2) propose tax increases 'on the rich' that raises little revenue compared to #1, so most of those are long term., He doesn't really want any new taxes now but it sounds good to the clueless.
3) blame Bush, the Tea party, the Germans, the weather, the Chinese,(put your favorite villain here)

It's standard credit card logic except his name is not on the bill, ours is.

Mr. President, if it's going to take you longer than four years to repair the economy, as you clearly seem to be saying, then it's patently obvious that we made the absolute wrong choice in 2008.

You're fired. Security will gather your belongings and escort you to the door.

While it is unrealistic to expect a lowly journalist (read as: over paid Monday morning quarterback with ZERO experience in anything) to counter the blame Bush syndrome with, it started with J. Carter’s Community Reinvestment Act certainly a right leaning journalist could at least respond that the economy did not head into this recession until after both the House and Senate fell under communist control.

The economy had been growing, albeit anemically, prior to the communist takeover.

In the last 2 years, I have never heard any talking head or political hack bring up this point. It is like the right is just supposed to be a punching bag for communists.

Bush is at fault for not pushing the gay gobbler Barney Frank harder on Fannie and Freddie and he folded like a cheap card table when Frank put his gay card away and pulled out his race card. Other than that, this downturn belongs as cement boots on every democrat.

More Yahoo propaganda:

Yahoo news: “Target al Qaeda: An inside look at Obama’s drone program
One of the most lasting legacies President Obama will likely hand over to his successor, whether in 2013 or in 2017, is the use of drone aircrafts for targeted killings.”

Sorry, Jake Tapper et alii, - George Bush was the first president to use drone strikes in 2002. Clinton attempted to hit bin laden with a cruise missile- It`s their legacy, not Obummer`s.
More propaganda disguised as “news” Do you think we have no memories here or are stupid?
I sent this to editors of ABC news.
