RE :”If there is nothing to be done about the choice of Rominy or little bastard commie, then why not vote for the removal of the commie while voting for as many real conservatives as you can find on your ballot?

In this case Romney clearly lied his way to nomination taking the most anti-illegal stances against Perry and Newt (’self deportation’), and now after winning it he is a new Romney (same as the old lib Romney) who yesterday wouldn't even say if he would reverse Obama’s move, but implied he wouldnt(’self deportation’ is history) . Romney played the most conservative when he was the most liberal.

Need to keep a close eye on him

:

Liberal Republican Romney, Romney is a liberal.

There is no damn “growing consensus” about the children of these criminals, unless it is that NONE of them should ever become legal, and that the children should go back with their parents or drug mules.

Yes in deed, We The People need to remove little barry and then keep a close and restrictive eye on Milt Rominy. It will be refreshing to have more folks actually exercising their sovereign responsibilities instead of trusting the Bushes to take care of things. Of course, Milt is such a disgusting man he might yet pick ‘the Jeb’ as his veep! If that happens, I doubt I’ll have any hair left for the midterm elections.

Oh, please. There is no way to prove who is “here now” and who comes in to take advantage of more freebies courtesy of the few taxpayers who are left.

I am so glad I saw through Rubio from the start.

Rubio and Romney are going to hand Obama 4 more years.

I am at a loss with the republicans... they insist on handing BHO a victory at every turn...

They don’t mind if we keep our eye on him. We’re just supposed to keep our yap shut if we see something bad.

From here on out Romney could dismantle this nation down to the cornerstones, and we’ll be framed as the enemies of Conservatism if we address it.

Remain silent regarding Romney?

Fat chance...

I don't try to tell people who to vote for when the situation/choice is this bad but I suggest we not let the MA lib believe our vote is ‘in the bag’ or by election day we will have two Obama’s on the ballot.

Just by nature of being the head of the ONLY opposition party (RINO party) Romney can do much damage that Obama can't. I will probably decide my vote very late like I did in 2008. This stinks to all hell to chooose between a liberal (MR)and progressive (0).

Remember RNC Steele who now works for MSNBC ? He was a disaster.

Have you been getting my Romney pings lately? My mission is to expose EVERY reversal of his primary conservative positions. We knew this was coming,

I think this one we are in 100% agreement on.

Havent we met someplace before ? :) A Bush thread maybe..

So, as I wrote, Rubio’s bill doesn’t create a path to citizenship.

I don’t support Rubio’s bill. However, I must admit that it is very politically astute of him to introduce such a bill, since it (i) takes away from the pro-amnesty folks the only good poster children they have and (ii) doesn’t create a path to citizenship, which the Democrat DREAM Act does. Obama agrees that Rubio’s bill is brilliant politics, which is why he’s trying to keep it from coming to the Senate floor. And I think that we should debate this issue based on the facts, and facing realities, not by using slogans such as “RINO!” and “amnesty!” when such terms are not applicable.

We’re in agreement a lot more than on this one. I think you know that. I get an awful lot of pings. While I’m glad to get them because it keeps me abreast of what is taking place on the forum, I can’t respond to them all and if I agree with where someone is going, I often take a pass.

Your effort to reveal Romney’s turncoat nature, is an important one. We simply must come to grips with what the Republican party has turned into. We need to know what Romney truly is.

Keep up the good work.

The claim that it doesnt create a path to citizenship is missleading. As that excerpt says it treats the affected illegals like any legal immigrant with a green card who can apply for citizenship. which they as illegals do not have now.

Unless the bill bars citizenship, or sets a much higher bar than for those here legally with green cards, it gives a ‘path to citizenship’ where they have none now. Otherwise his plan must directly BAR citizenship

I know exactly why Republicans want to try to get the one-up on Dems on this, however it is short sighted as Obama’s pre-emption has shown.

I will never support a ‘path to citizenship’ bill unless there is a way to filter out those likely to be lifelong Dems (ie government handout voters) after they get it. .

your parents brought you here illegally, and you have grown up here your whole life and don’t even speak Spanish

Nonsense. The majority of first generation immigrants (a definition that obviously wouldn't apply to people who surreptitiously enter the US after birth, many of whom don't bother learning English at all) are bilingual.

Illegal immigrants from south of the border have their own unofficially-sanctioned subculture here in American. Hence, Americans are serenaded with "Press 1, for English", "2 for Spanish" when they call government offices or private vendors, and Spanish-language broadcasts proliferate on the airwaves.

Rubio is disingenuous, and has created an absurd straw man to bolster his empty argument.

I am a solid Rubio fan, and one issue won’t change that, but is a constant frustration when our side uses these ridiculous imagery of the 4 year old who grew up here and doesn’t even speak spanish. It is supposed to paint a picture of something that doesn’t exist or maybe is true less than 2% of the time. Who really thinks this is the typical person who will benefit from this new DREAM policy? I hated it when Bush used the same imagery ‘doing the jobs Americans won’t do’, etc.

Frankly, I agree partially with Rubio. It makes no sense to create a policy of ‘round them all up and deport’. It simply isn’t realistic. I don’t want to see any sort of comprehensive reform on this or anything. Comprehensive reform is DC speak for ‘we all get screwed’.

On this issue, I am perfectly comfortable with reforms like this in conjunction with Alabama and Arizona style crackdowns on illegals and enforcement of business hiring rules....coupled with border protection. We do need to find ways to sort out those that want to be productive and move them to work visas, all the while making it hard for the rest to stay here or future illegals from getting here in the first place.

I was perfectly comfortable with the Texas policies that Perry got obliterated over in the primaries. It was a near unanimous vote in the Texas House. There is middle ground on this issue that is palatable for our side. We just have a lack of leadership. Rubio’s ideas may be ok, but I am not liking his approach.

Thanks.

Like I told the other freeper you were arguing with, if we give Romney a free pass now, rewarding him for outright lying his way though the primary, then we deserve a white Obama as Republican POTUS. He must NOT take conservatives support for granted or we will have a monster in the WH of our own creation.

I rarely look at it, but I did see an article slobbering over Rubio in today’s “USA Today”. The thing that strikes me is that Rubio has become “the darling” of a lot of people, including some on this forum, but I’m not sure precisely why. I suspect it is telegenic looks and youth, along with the assumption he can swing the Hispanic vote and not much else. His support of back door amnesty makes me very wary of him, and his ethnicity makes me wonder about hidden agendas he may have, particularly concerning immigration.

Where I draw the line, is when I have to remain silent regarding the treachery of our own candidate.  I tirelessly dump on Romney, because he is a Leftist in his heart.  There's just no denying it.

My comments are most certainly taken as an ecoragement to others not to vote for him.  My actual goal, is merely to out Romney for what he is.

I can't imagine someone being stupid enough to vote for Obama.  I can't imagine any Conservative being stupid enough to vote for Romney either knowing he will most certainly betray them and our nation on countless matters.

This election cycle may see the lowest voter turnout in decades.  We do not have a sound person to vote for here.

While I can't see a reason to vote for Obama or Romney, I'm not telling folks not to vote for Romney.  I'm just not going to be quiet about what he is.  Others will have to decide for themselves if they can stand four years of watching Romney dismantle this nation, knowing they backed him to do it.

I don't try to tell people who to vote for when the situation/choice is this bad but I suggest we not let the MA lib believe our vote is ‘in the bag’ or by election day we will have two Obama’s on the ballot.

I agree.  What is to be gained by telling him we'll support him no matter what Leftist action he takes.  Look where that got us with Bush.  Did it moderate him?  LOL

Just by nature of being the head of the ONLY opposition party (RINO party) Romney can do much damage that Obama can't. I will probably decide my vote very late like I did in 2008. This stinks to all hell to chooose between a liberal (MR)and progressive (0).

Yes, the problem with Romney is the same one with Bush.  If a Republican president supports something, the Republicans in Congress and the Senate are much more likely to push it through.  In most instances, with a Republican in the White House and a Republican Congress and Senate, there will be no effective checks and balances.

Look at Bush's first term.  Look at that new Great Society program, the Prescription Medicare add-on.  Could a Democrat have pushed that through the Republican House and Senate?  No.

Remember RNC Steele who now works for MSNBC ? He was a disaster.

That's putting it mildly.  ;^)  (okay, not really, but he was terrible)

“There is a growing sentiment in America about these kids,” Rubio says. “If you were four years old when your parents brought you here illegally, and you have grown up here your whole life and don’t even speak Spanish, and you are your high school’s valedictorian, you have a lot to contribute to our future. It kind of feels weird to deport you.”

Flame suit on, I agree with Rubio on this one and it's a shame that Obama was able to co-opt the issue, largely in thanks to the "deport 'em all now!" crowd.

Anyways, I'd rather keep these kids and send back the tens of thousands of unassimilated, savage Somalis that Bush rolled out the red carpet for during his tenure.
