Covering all the bases ahead of a momentous Supreme Court ruling, the Obama administration plans to move ahead with major parts of the president's health care law if its most controversial provision does not survive, according to veteran Democrats closely involved with the legislation.

So, if the court strikes down the mandate part, the administration will still proceed on giving away taxpayer-funded healthcare, but no one will be forced to pay into the system (except the dwindling base of Federal taxpayers of course). Well, that should be really great for those of us unfortunate enough to have to pay taxes.

Why don’t they just borrow some money? Isn’t that the default solution in Washington?

To do that you need a majority vote of both houses of Congress and the President's signature.

They should throw the whole thing out, since congress didn’t bother to sever the mandate from the rest of it.

But these days, who knows what the court will do?

No you don’t, the SCOTUS can and according to reports is inclined to strike down the whole law.

Obama ignores everything that he disagrees with - whether it is the Constitution, the Congress or the Supreme Court.

What are you going to do when he steals the election?

New Executive Order: “All citizens must purchase health insurance. However, the administration will instruct the HHS and IRS not to prosecute certain demographic groups for failure to comply.”

And the press wonders why we call them liberal...and they wonder why we call them biased and more. The AP is acting in concert with people who would circumvent the protections of our constitution to realize their un-American, un-Constitutional utopian world view. I just love how they phrase it up so as to say that no matter what you know or no matter what the bill actually says and does it is good. It is OBSCENE...how they passed it is OBSCENE and un-American and Un-Constitutional...to look past this obvious and get emotional about it all (which is what they want) is ludicrous!

Wait a sec. Pelosi et al. didn’t want a piece meal deal of the ObamaCare, they dared the Supreme Court to strike it down as unconstitutional.

Now that it looks like Supremes are about to do that, Obama is still going to ram the damn bill down our throat?

Romney is “mulling” it over also. He has entirely backed away from “repealing Obamacare”, and today would not deny that he will let it stand until a “longer term plan” is put together, and “not this stop gap version” Obama has before us, kicking in December 31st at midnight.

Translation: Obamacare kicks in, in all its parts salvaged by the Supreme Court.

[If the mandate is struck down, that would still leave in place a major expansion of Medicaid, the federal-state safety net program for low-income people.]

In states whose constitution mandates a balanced budget the expanded Medicaid program will drain their treasuries and force cuts in other public services and jobs.

Former Tennessee Gov. Bill Bredesen, a Democrat and Obama supporter, predicted ObamaCare will be a fiscal disaster. He complained that the law was formulated by people “who don't know how health care works in the real world.”

That is who was going to pay into it all along. If you made under around 88K you would have gotten subsidies. Basically over 89K you would be getting the same medicare (that is what it was going to be) but you get to pay more for the same care to others you just get to pay twice. I hope the whole law is struck down.

Scalia said they weren’t about to read 2700 pages (and pick and choose) which would be legislating from the bench. Not their job.

BO ignores Congress, the Supreme Court and the Constitution because he does it with such ease and no one lifts a finger or says a word. What is the point of having representatives of the people if they refuse to stand up for us against this boy dictator. I’m calling all my reps and senators tomorrow and request politely that they get their a@@es in gear and stand up for Americans. Pathetic that I even have to do this.
