Marco Rubio Not Being Vetted to Be Mitt Romney’s Running Mate
ABC ^

Posted on 06/19/2012 4:12:44 AM PDT by Perdogg

Even before the Republicans chose a presidential nominee it was widely assumed that Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., would be at the top of anybody’s list of vice presidential candidates. The reasons are obvious: Not only is he young, charismatic and wildly popular with conservatives, but he could also help Republicans win a key state (Florida) and make inroads with Hispanics.

Nikki Haley of SC is rumored to be on the short list. She isn’t NBC either.

Surely you see the difference between someone who left the county to settle permanently in Mexico to make a new life vs someone who knew it was only temporary and was in some type of service.

"Good possibility that Mitch Daniels -absolutely no charisma or good looks, will be picked."

Not.

Also, this:

"Purdue University Picks Indiana Governor as President

9:38 AM, Jun 20, 2012: Indianapolis (written by John Russlel, Ryan Sabalow, & Mary Beth Schneider/Indianapolis Star) --

Purdue University's surprise choice of Gov. Mitch Daniels as its next president is being hailed by many as a coup for the university for his skill in fundraising and leadership."

"Jonathan Karl of ABC on GMA this morning thinks Pawlenty is at the top of the list."

Which is QED the reason to ignore all of this as Karl tries to stir some sh!t in what was a slow news week until today.

Notably, Karl is not a libtard, but he has been in the tank for Ryan as GOP VP (since he can't get his favorite Condi Rice), and would 'settle' for Pawlenty.

You seem to have run out of cogent legal arguement.

The answer to your question is “no.” Under our laws children born overseas to US citizen parents are legally born US citizens.

Despite your desire to find some reason to knock out Romney from the Presidential nomination of the Republican Party, and build a consenus his disqualifacation at this late date, and for your personal political expediency, there is no reason for that law to be changed or ignored.

I don’t like the SOB either but he has prevailed through our primary process. In any case I will be voting against Obama, though my ballot might have a checkmark near the Republican nominee.

Sigh.

The Congressional races are looming as the more important races on the 2012 General election ballot.

Might I suggest you turn your efforts to the very real disqualifying issues surrounding Obama’s eligibilty to be POTUS?

I just made a comment speaking to the commons sense of when a person born outside the US to US parents still fit NBC.

McCain got his pass because his father was on military duty in Panama.

Romney’s grandfather was not in the military or in the sevice of an American entity.

I suggest you quite being so blind to common sense. BTW, why don’t you link where a court has officially defined what a NBC citizen is. Don’t spend too much time because you will not find it. Why don’t you try though since you like to argue about things you don’t understand.

MINOR V. HAPPERSETT IS BINDING PRECEDENT AS TO THE CONSTITUTIONAL DEFINITION OF A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN.

FOUR Supreme Court cases that cite “natural born Citizen” as one born on U.S. soil to citizen parents.

That case was speaking to those born to us citizens on us soil.

We are speaking to a different issue. Namely, when does foreign birth of a child to a US Citizen qualify that child as a NBC.

Read McCain’s senate resolution for clues. Notice that they drew upon the REASON McCain was born in a foreign country. namely that his father was in the service of the country through the military.

Recognizing that John Sidney McCain, III, is a natural born citizen.
Whereas the Constitution of the United States requires that, to be eligible for the Office of the President, a person must be a `natural born Citizen’ of the United States;
Whereas the term `natural born Citizen’, as that term appears in Article II, Section 1, is not defined in the Constitution of the United States;
Whereas there is no evidence of the intention of the Framers or any Congress to limit the constitutional rights of children born to Americans serving in the military nor to prevent those children from serving as their country’s President;
Whereas such limitations would be inconsistent with the purpose and intent of the `natural born Citizen’ clause of the Constitution of the United States, as evidenced by the First Congress’s own statute defining the term `natural born Citizen’;
Whereas the well-being of all citizens of the United States is preserved and enhanced by the men and women who are assigned to serve our country outside of our national borders;
Whereas previous presidential candidates were born outside of the United States of America and were understood to be eligible to be President; and

You can not AMEND the Constitution with a senate resolution.

BTW, I noticed you have nothing to say with regards to having been proven a LIAR in posts #108 and #109.

Your links say nothing about being born in a foreign country and you don’t need to amend the constitution. You just have to interpret it which has never been done in regards to a person born in a foreign country to US Citizens relative to their NBC status.

Liar huh LOL.

Dred Scott v. Sandford, 60 U.S. 393 (1857):

"The citizens are the members of the civil society; bound to this society by certain duties, and subject to its authority, they equally participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens. As society cannot perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their parents, and succeed to all their rights.' Again: 'I say, to be of the country, it is necessary to be born of a person who is a citizen; for if he be born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country. . . .

The language is clear, obot.

” BTW, why don’t you link where a court has officially defined what a NBC citizen is.”

That’s easy...Minor v Happersett USSC defines NBC. Look it up youself, you might learn something. The definition of Natural Born Citizen, until Obama, has never an issue. It was always understood and accepted that children born in this country to citizen parents were the so called Natives / Natural Born Citizens. They form the very foundation of any society.

What has been an issue is what other (ie non NBC) circumstances of birth resulted in “born citizenship.”

The 14th Amendment was passed to insure citizenship for former slaves and their children, partially answered the question of who shall be a “born” citizen. (Note: Born citizens have No need for naturalization.)

USSC case WKA applied the 14th amendment to persons other than the initially intended former slaves and their children. WKA, born in the US to non citizen, but legally residing parents, was found to be a born citizen by the application of the 14th namendment.

George Romney, Mitts father was born in Mexico to US citizen parents. He is a born US citizen per US law. No need for his being naturalized. Period.

Mitt was born in the US to US Citizen parents. There is no need for him to be naturalized....in fact the quality of his birth is one of being a Natural Born Citizen. Period.

You are the type of person that gives people with legitimate concerns about Obama’s lack of eligibility a bad name. Your ignorance of US law, History, Mores, and Customs is appalling Your posts are sophmoric, and your ad hominum attacks demeaning to both yourself and the object of your anger. Get a grip on it. Post to me again in the same abusive manner and I’ll make sure the moderators aware of your behavior. Repeat.... don’t post your junk at me or any other FReeper again. Do not engage in ad hominum attacks on me or any other FReeper. Ever. Clear enough for you?????

This is what has never been tested in court. Until you understand the conversation you need to butt of it.

Your problem is that you don’t understand the issue. This is the same issue some say disqualifies Obama, namely that his father was Britsh.

As far as commenting you are the typical poster who posts crap and then gets offended when challenged.

Do you understand now what we are discussing? I hope so because you are just confusing anyone that has read your comments.
