Maher: GOP is the 'Party of the Apes'

Bill Maher on Monday called the GOP the “Party of the Apes” and ripped Republicans for not repudiating Rep. Allen West — who, the comedian suggested, should be taken to a mental hospital.

“[T]he idea that the blame for our government’s dysfunction is equally shared by the parties just is a giant, steaming mound of horsesh*t and anyone who has paid attention to politics over the last 20 years knows it. Or as I like to call it, ‘The Rise of the Party of the Apes,’” the host of HBO’s “Real Time” wrote on his blog.

Maher singled out two politicians as extremists: West and Richard Mourdock, the Republican nominee for Senate who defeated longtime Sen. Dick Lugar in a primary last month.

“[T]ake Allen West. Seriously, take him to the padded cell and give him 20 CCs of the high test,” Maher wrote, noting West’s remark that some 80 House Democrats are Communists. “And not one Republican said, ‘Allen, come on. You’re making us look dumb.’ Not one of the Republican candidates for president said anything. Because in today’s Republican Party, that’s not even edgy anymore. They probably saw him later on and were like, ‘Word, Allen. Word.’ Because that’s how they think black people talk.”

As for the Tea Party–backed Mourdock, who said last month, “I certainly think bipartisanship ought to consist of Democrats coming to the Republican point of view,” Maher equated it with a relationship in which only one partner receives oral sex.

Allen’s statement was probably correct, but technically those 80 are socialists. They belong to the Democrat Socialists of America. Maybe some belong to the Communist Party USA but West was probably basing his comments on the DSA memberships.

Time and time again we see socialism fail. So, why would people like Bill keep advocating that system? I believe it's only lip service for the peons. It's all just to keep the little people watching their shows, buying their books and paying to see their movies. If they really believed what they say, they'd write a check to the IRS for more than they owe rather than paying accountants to lessen their taxes. They wouldn't have multiple mansions in several countries and fly private jets. The form of government they advocate only benefits those at the top. Themselves.
If, Obama is reelected, I'd like to give Bill what he and his friends have asked for. As the saying goes, “Be careful what you wish for, you may get it.” I would like to see the the Tea-party and 99% get together and push for a “Put your money where your mouth is tax”. This would only be on those who have backed Obama and/or called for the rich to pay higher taxes. I'm sure it would never pass, but just the sound of their squeal would prove their hypocrisy, and hopefully put an end to their bull$^!+.
