What does conservative pundit Tucker Carlson have to do with an outhouse in Montana?
More than you might think.
Over the weekend, the Montana Republican Party proved wrong those of us who believe our political discourse has gone down the toilet. In fact, our political discourse has gone to a place where there isn’t even plumbing.
Outside the Montana GOP convention in Missoula stood an outhouse labeled “Obama Presidential Library” and painted as though it had been shot full of holes, according to the local paper. Inside, a fake birth certificate for “Barack Hussein Obama” was stamped with an expletive referring to bovine droppings. A message in the structure gave fake phone numbers for Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi “For a Good Time.”

On CNN‘s Reliable Sources, Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank defended a recent column where he admitted even if there is no evidence that Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck inspired Jared Loughner to shoot Congresswoman Giffords, criticism of Palin and Beck is still deserved because “both are finally being held to account for recklessly playing with violent images in a way that is bound to incite the unstable.”
Hey, if the President doesn’t have to uphold the law, I guess that means we can pick and choose the ones we want to obey, right?

Conservative pundits are yelling questions to the president, just as they have been yelled to every president in living memory.
The press is getting unruly. This is good for America, but Obama doesn’t like it? Why? (Answ.:He can’t dictate the questions.)

WaPo’s Dana Milbank, Repeats Lie About Sarah Palin in Order to Trash Mitt Romney
In order to trash Mitt Romney, Milbank drags Sarah Palin into his nonsensical rant in the first paragraph:
Almost four years ago, I was watching Sarah Palin rile up a Clearwater, Fla., crowd with anti-Obama broadsides when a spectator let loose a bloodcurdling cry of “kill him!”
He actually links to his own story, with no other actual proof, as his “proof” the event occurred.
It’s been said that if you tell the Big Lie long enough, it becomes truth. My guess is this is Milbank’s favorite quote. He is certainly adept at keeping the Big Lie alive.
He goes on to trash Romney saying:
Now that the year is again divisible by four, the anti-Obama hatred is flaring anew. But I worry that Obama’s current opponent doesn’t have the strength of character to push back against the most dangerous voices on his side.
The latest sign of trouble came Monday, when a woman speaking at a Mitt Romney event in Euclid, Ohio, said that Obama was operating outside of the Constitution and “should be tried for treason.” Many in the crowd of 500 applauded this call for the commander in chief of the United States to be charged with a capital offense.

Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank has declared the month of February “Palin Free,” pledging not to mention Sarah Palin in any way. Milbank is urging his fellow members of the mainstream media to follow suit.
“But today is the first day of the rest of my life. And so, I hereby pledge that, beginning on Feb 1, 2011, I will not mention Sarah Palin - in print, online or on television - for one month. Furthermore, I call on others in the news media to join me in this pledge of a Palin-free February. With enough support, I believe we may even be able to extend the moratorium beyond one month, but we are up against a powerful compulsion, and we must take this struggle day by day.”
Mind, considering the vile things that have been said and written about Sarah Palin ever since she was vaulted to national prominence in 2008, one would forgive Palin for breathing a sigh of relief. A promise not to accuse her of being a party to a mass murder or being an anti-Semite would be welcome.

Let’s get back to the Big Lie. The one who originally reported on this was, you guessed it, Dana Milbank. But there is a twist. Allegedly someone shouted “kill him” at Sarah’s mention of murdering terrorist Bill Ayers, not Obama. It was Frank Rich of the New York Times who actually transferred this alleged threat from terrorist Ayers, over to Barack Obama.
The Milbank-Rich tag team has run with the Big Lie ever since.
The Secret Service investigated the incident at the time and found there was no “there” there.
The Big Lie was repeated in the failed HBO movie Game Change. Writing for Andrew Breitbart’s Big Hollywood under the heading: “Whom Do You Believe: HBO or Secret Service?” Larry O’Conner, describing a scene in the movie, points out: [emphasis mine]

President Bush was heckled by a reporter during a press conference with Gold Star families, Blue Star families, and Veterans in July of 2007. The media never discussed it. President Bush behaved as if this occurred all of the time. I was one of the Blue Star family members.
And I don’t recall any such outrage over the constant barrage at Groegre Bush or Sarah Palin, including hanging effigys, assassination movies, etc..ad nauseum.
