I am sorry, 'refusing to testify under oath' is different than Holder lying to Congress.

We knew at least on two points Holder lied under oath - 1) he testified he did not talk to Obama about F&F; 2) he retracted claim on Bush AG

Roger Clemens just went through 'lying to Congress under oath'. Eric Holder as AG did just that. Who in DoJ is going to prosecute that? We know Holder definitely will not.

That is my point. Holder is running the show. Republicans in the House know this.

RE :”But yeah, you’re right...I’m not going to hold my breath on it. If the next step is to go the AG, and Holder IS the AG, then this is a circle jerk at the end of the day

Yep, my patience for Republicans getting NO results but lots of talk is long gone. And usually after much noise they manage to lower their own opinion polls and raise Obamas. Drama does nothing for me.

Example : Lindsey Graham on CBS Sunday saying that Obama's amnesty executive order is illegal really pissed me off. That RINO's phoniness really gets to me.

Very well said.

Now which representatives can we contact to insist they do their job? It’s in a committee right now, correct?

It would be so easy & effective if Romney were to use this as a campaign issue. No hyperbole, just use what are known facts of the case.

The democrats & media couldn't help but play right into his hands, because they couldn't leave the charges unanswered - they'd go over the top, as usual.

And as inept as he's proven to be, the electorate is very much in the mood to find Obama guilty of something.

RE :”I am sorry, ‘refusing to testify under oath’ is different than Holder lying to Congress.

The main difference is that those under GWB refusing to testify were WH advisors(Rove was one) , not confirmed officials like Holder who must testify.

Conyers called them in to set a perjury trap for them but they refused to come.

I don't know what Tea leaves you are reading but Romney will do nothing, say nothing, so I will avoid the hypotheticals about what would happen if he did.

If the committee votes for contempt of congress, I believe it first goes to the entire house so contacting your local rep would be proper.

Hey he wasn't my first or second choice (or third or fourth) but I have to admit that Romney seems a little more willing to play rough than did his predecessor, or even is the GOP leadership in congress.

In fact this thing has gotten much bigger in the media since this thread began.

Hope springs eternal.

Something that's been ignored from the very beginning is the fact that this whole mess was thought up and run WITHOUT the consent, knowledge, or assistance of the Mexican government, meaning that there was never any intention of "tracking" these weapons, but only to "recover" them at the crime scenes.

And this SHOULD lead to questions as to why the government which had stopped claiming that guns sold by American gun dealers were turning up at Mexican crime scenes would suddenly start funneling guns to the very drug cartels that were committing all the murders.

The two scary things about this whole mess are:

1) That there were only a few government agents willing to come forward and become whistleblowers. The rest were willing to sit back and watch the government allow the arming of drug cartels who would be committing untold numbers of murders.

2) That the ministry of propaganda, which within my lifetime has morphed from an independent press, keeping an eye on the government to help "keep it in line," to nothing more than a bunch of enablers, actively working towards the reelection of an imperial ruler.
